I just came back from my local American Legion. I was speaking with a person who wants to get some exotics together (for a show) to benefit kids of families who cannot afford treatments for cancer and other diseases. Since we do not have many exotics in this area, it would be a great opportunity for everyone to come out and see our awesome rides. All of the money raised would go to the kids. I am looking to see how much interest I can get for this event. We would like to have the event in the Stroudsburg/Brodheadsville PA area. We were thinking about the weekend before Labor day. I know this is very short notice but I was wondering how many people would be willing to bring their nice rides to have them on display for everyone to enjoy. We would charge the people an entrance fee to view the cars. Once again, this is being done for the kids. Please let me know if you would like to attend. I'm trying to see how many cars we can get for this show. If there is enough interest, I will post more information about the exact date and exact place for this event.

Thanks in advance for reading this and I hope we can get enough to help these unfortunate kids.

    Thanks again,

    Shawn

Huh? Im not jacking the thread, I am trying to help it out. Jafo told me about his idea yesterday and I am trying to help make it happen. I am trying to get in touch with some exotic car owners to see if they are interested in comming out to support the cause.

    How many do you want?

I get together every saturday with at least 8-10 of the guys, many of whom are up for this kind of event.

Start to nail some specifics down, then we can give you a better idea.

    Dave,
That would be great. I'm trying to get as many as possible so that we can attract enough people to help out these kids. I am working with someone else to get all of the details worked out. Depending on how many cars we can get to come, we will have to find a place to hold this. My local American Legion can hold approx. 30 - 35 cars but that would have to include the people that come out to see the cars plus the kids as well. I will post more information once I speak this my friend tonight. I just wanted to post this quickly to see if there was any interest in helping these families of these kids so that they can get the treatments that they need. I will definitely post more information within the next few days. Thanks for your help.

    Shawn

    Matt,
Thank you for helping me out with this. I believe it is a great opportunity to help out the kids as well as allowing us to show our nice cars. One of the reasons I bought my Ferrari was so that I can share it with others and this would be a great cause to do that. Thanks again.

If I had an exotic I'd be there in a second. I have three kids and I couldn't even imagine what it's like for the kids or their parents.
it's though enough going through(cancer) this with my dad.
depending on when it is if you'd like to offer my service's to help these kids just pm me.

Thank you very much. It is touching to see that others feel the same way that I do. If I can get this together, you can help by just coming out. All support is always greatly appreciated. More info to come.

Thanks again to everyone who has read and/or responded to this thread.

Let me know when and where. I don't have a Ferrari, however I will be more than happy to bring my Lotus, and If both my wife and I are free I can probably bring the Z06 as well. Just let me know, I would love to participate.

Thanks to everyone for the support. The commander of the Legion said that they don't have the time available for this. It bewilders me as to how they can help every other organization but they can't find the time to help unfortunate kids in need. If anyone can suggest another spot to hold this, I am more than willing to attend, and help promote.

    Thanks again to everyone.

I would try and come in contact with Pleasant Valley High School, they may let the event be held in the Student Parking Lot or in the back lot where the buses go. Both lots are pretty big and I dont see how the school wouldent allow such an event to take place because school is out so they have no use for the lot, and also there are many disabled kids going to the school so it seems to be a win-win situation. I will give them a call tomm and see if they are up for it.

    Matt,
Thanks for trying. I appreciate the help. Hopefully one of these places will wake up one of these days and help these kids but for now it looks like we will have to wait until next year. Thanks again.

Should we wait until next summer or should I try with the highschool? I just got a message from them saying they have to know the details of the event and someone just has to go down to the office and pick up an event form, fill it out, and turn it in. Im not sure how long it takes to be approved though.

Thanks for following up. This all depends on the feelings of the people that could bring their cars out. I would be willing to help promote and of course display mt F355. I guess this is now open to the forum to see the response. Thanks again.
