Ok, we often see on jalopnik or on wrecked exotic those beauties going into flame. I'm not saying regular honda/toyota/VW, etc. never go inflame (we don't ear about them because no one care putting thoses cars in the news) but is there more exotics going in flame then regular car (in proportion)?

My friend and I always tried to understand why a car would go in flame. The best answer we've come up to is that a regular honda civic is pushing maybe 60-80% of what his engine is capable of (just so the car can drive 300 000KM without any "major" flaw). And we though those exotics must already have their engine going 90-100% of what they're capable of, so if you beat the crap out of it, it just wanna die faster than a civic beated à 60-80% of what it's capable of. (I'm talking here without modification turbo, super charger, etc.)

The other explanation is that beat the crap out of any car in very very hot weather and never inspect properly your car before beating it out and it just might lead you to set it into flame.

As anyone has other explanation ?
And please stop the massacre ! 599, enzo, gallardo, etc. ! We love you all.

Any car could catch fire if something goes wrong, it's just that the Honda's don't make the news like the exotics....
