i recall the morning before that run out the front of the hotel scud was doing his tyres and mhh came over. i don't recall the numbers being bandied about, but i think scud was going by what was on the kickplate and mhh said something about some different numbers (much lower ???) which came from another source. i fergit which he went with, i was busy setting up the camera.
Yes, the kickplate says 300kpa (something like 44psi?) which I confirmed from Lamborghini is the maximum pressure (even though it doesn't say that). I'm not sure what scud did with the info though. The manual says (it's a quiet night at chez mhh) F 2.4bar, R 2.2bar for Rosso tyres and F 2.2bar R 2.0bar for Corsas. For "permanent use >260km/h" 3.0bar for both types. Someone will need to translate to psi for me. I assume 3.0bar = 300kpa.
300 kpa = 43.5113213 psi 3.0 bar = 43.5113213 psi 2.4 bar = 34.8090571 psi 2.2 bar = 31.9083023 psi 2.0 bar = 29.0075475 psi Normally I would say 29 - 32psi is a bit low even for normal street driving. I'd run 34 - 36psi just to save on tyre wear. Also you're protecting your rims if you have 19 inch +. Anyone know why they recommend such low pressures?
lowered the pressure to about 34 psi cold , could of come down to say 30 psi . for the track i start at about 26 psi and it rises to say 32 psi but the tyres cop it a lot harder on the track than going in a straight line with no sudden braking
saw dec edition of MOTOR mag today , no sign of us . what's the go ? can someone email tim and ask him when ?
Tim said most likely Feb issue as he has a lot of supercar articles and he wants to make a 'supercar issue'.
I see in today's MOTOR that the NT story is out next issue. The current issue has a nice pic of Scud's cars taken from the Turbo as a warm up. BTW, PCOTY is Audi RS4. As a Lambo owner, I'm very proud.
those RS4s are weapons Mark, was destroyed on the track by one of those as was every other Ferrari they look ugly but I want one for a family wagon
Nice shot of you in the new national journal JM, clearly struggling to get past a little 105 Alfa. I see a pattern emerging here
that's cruel Ian I was killing that alfa, if they had taken some shots a few milliseconds later you would have seen me passing Horse and running wide onto the ripplestrip and nearly losing it big time .... wasn't heart in the mouth stuff but very close to running off the track and losing her in the rough (two stroke penalty I think in golf) also had big lockup at the next corner and then ran wide again followed by a totally bolloxed lap you know when you lose it in one place and it flows on for the rest of the lap until you *****slap yourself into getting it back under control ?? Well that's me EVERY lap
