Good morning Guys, Its 1:35 am and after several coronas, three bottles of red, some gin and an unlimited supply of cognac... Jim501 and I have decided the following entry criteria for next year... 1. Last years participants 2. Ferraris & Lamborghinis 3. Really interesting cars 4. Cars capable of 251 kph (M5 without delimiting need not apply) 5. Make up numbers to 12 What do you reckon? PS we took 30 minutes to type this wiothout spelling errors
i don't think you will get 12 cars if you try and limit who can and who can't come. the guy in the uber M5 that can do 500 kmh won't be happy. out of last years participants , who do you think will return ? les , chris , mark , me ???
Lighten up Scud. Read the first line again and gain some insight to the comments. Cameron and I were having some fun. My head hurts too much to argue.
Lets see what interest we get after the next issue of MOTOR comes out.....I'm sure as word gets out and once the event gets closer there will be more than enough people wanting to go. do another spell check then.....
Firstly, the trip is not about me (or other newbies) being happy, it is up to you guys to decide who and what cars participate. I have not problem with that. Having said that, I must ask what may be a rhetoric question. Are you having a bad hair day, am I misinterpreting your sense of humor or are you just being derogatory and facetious with your reference to the guy in the uber M5 that can do 500kph? If its the later, you can count me out.
it's not about anyone picking who can come and who can't. there is no one in charge or no one who has final say . it's just a get together of car nuts. just taking the piss , that's all . i owned a E36 M3 for 7 years and loved it to pieces. i am a fan of the marque and would love to drag an M5 down the stuart highway
Didn't think we would stay awake long enough if we checked the last line oops! Just spoke to Cameron who is finally making his way to work for the day. Had a great night drinking and recounting stories from Alice. Looking forward to next year and seeing all the new cars out there. I hope all the old crew come back as well.
Cool, you're on! By the way, are any of you guys interested in a spot of fishing a bit further north? Cars could be left in Alice and fly up and back from Darwin or we could drive.....that is, if the extra kms don't depreciate those Ferraris and Lambos too much I could organise a suitable vessel adequately provisioned with all our gastronomic and beverage needs (read desires).
Not keen on fishing myself, but no probs - I'm happy to stay back in Alice and 'look after' the cars. I think flying up and fishing would be a waste - we are there to drive so wasting a day in the air and fishing would defeat the purpose.
I agree, wouldnt want waste time that is there for driving. What I had in mind was after the driving to charter a boat for several days, cruise, fish, eat, fish, drink, drink, drink, chew the fat and be merry. But hey, one mans fish is another mans poison. Just thought Id float the idea just in case there were other car nutters who are also mad fishos.
I'm sure some of the other guys here are keen on fishing, and doing it after the driving is over is a great idea. That way those who are interested and are able to take the extra couple days off can float on the ocean while the others return home.
Glad to hear it I would hate to think I was the only one suffering today. The idea of drinking gin because we couldn't possibly drink another red was OK but the cognac was just a straight out mistake
Gin in one hand Cognac in the other. I think I need a lie down. Well we thought the thread was a good idea at the time. And I had noticed the spelling mistake in the PS but didn't say anything, but I laughed all the way home.
He started resting his eyes at one point. But then remembered he was going to show me the 'secret' forum.
