I was thinking the same thing, with all the weather problems going on, i think it would be a great way to have some fun drink some coffee and eat a few delicious pastries.

    What time where you thinking?

So who is in for Saturday?

I showed up with my dad a few weeks ago (before the snow) and we were the only ones there. I was looking forward to seeing y'all. (I was staying overnight for some reason, which now escapes me)

By "decent" do you mean under 5" of rain per hour ? (I've recycled my Ferrari parts into the start of an Ark)

I got clear and 48 degrees on the forecast for early saturday.. hopefully things start to dry up today around our region and we can get all roads open again.. all roads look good by me and my travels to and from work- but I see other areas are still looking pretty bad- I'm planning on taking a drive regardless. ST&A: probably around 9am once the sun begins to break

All the roads around here are covered with a layer of sand. Can't be much better down there.

Down here in Oly, I was actually amazed to see a street sweeper out yesterday cleaning up. With the dry day and cleaner streets I decided to pick up my daughter from preschool in my Corvette. Still a little dirt flinging on the wheel wells, but not enough to keep me from driving the 328 if I got the urge.

Any interest in a new location? It's hard to build a following at Old Main because of the parking situation, even though it has a great bakery. One possible location is Redmond Town Center. I'd be happy to check and see if they would support us. Any other suggestions? Ideally it would be nice to have an actual parking lot, food close by, etc., and not any noise complaints.

I had always thought Carillon Point would be a great place...but after last summer's parking issues there, I would argue no :)

Redmond Town Center would be great, especially if they would be open to parking on the main stretch through the mall.

The Microsoft parking lot (technically part of RTC, I believe) is back off to the side, and would work as well. But you wouldn't get many people in off the streets looking at the cars, which is a plus or a minus depending on who you are.

I like Old Main, but it would be nice to see South Center or something more south-end now and then.

    Hey, Tom!!

Another location that might be a good site is in the Starbuck's coffee parking lot at the corner of Main and Bellevue way. It is usually empty at that early hour. I see at least 35 parking stalls, more than enough places, I think. It would also be close enough to the old venue that if someone didn't get the message that the group had moved the venue they could easily See and Hear the noise and possibly find us. :)
And it can still be called Exotics on Main!

BTW, this week and weekend should provide pretty good driving weather. I hope to make it to either venue!!!

I'm up for doing one at Southcenter too! Plus there's already a "Cars-N-Coffee" meeting group that Kristopher, the "Winding Road" Meet-Up guy who posts on here, has been staging there.

It's at the Barnes & Noble store (huge parking lot) in Southcenter starting at 9AM this Sat. morning. There's a Starbucks in the store.

It might be fun on Saturday to start at Exotics on Main and drive down to South Center and see what it's all about. I don't care where it is as long as it works, doesn't cater to the illegal street mod/racing crowd that's been the target of so many police raids in the LA area. I'd like to see something built like Cars and Coffee in Irvine, however it happens.

prohydro, what were the parking issues at Carillon Point?

One other option might be Kirkland's Marin Park parking lot that is between the water and all the buildings on the main drag. Easy access to get coffee and hundred+ parking spots. Half are metered, but I think they are only metered starting at 9am (perfect). There seems to be little traffic or cars parked down there in the mornings.

Juanita Park also has a huge lot, is right on the lake (beautiful in the summer) but no coffee stand there (of course there is no coffee shop in Irvine either, a vendor provides coffee).

Hey Tom and Vic, that sounds great if you want to meet up there in Bellevue and drive down to South center this saturday that would be cool. Just let me know what time you want to meet and we can drive down together. If you want to PM go ahead.

Downtown Kirkland is a good spot in general. The one downside is tree sap. I avoid that place with my car for that reason even though it's close to my house. Another interesting spot would be U-Village. We'd be out of there before the shoppers arrive and it couldn't be more central to everyone with food and a decent lot near QFC. Somewhere around Lake Union would also be interesting. So much depends on how welcome we are in the neighborhood.

As for Saturday, I'd like to show up at old Main around 8, grab something from the bakery and be on the road to Southcenter by 8:45 or so. While that location doesn't sound good to me, it would be fun to run down there with a few cars and check it out. The weather is expected to be decent too!

Carillon Point doesn't welcome exotics. Long story. Besides, with the hotel there, they would be unhappy with us at that hour.

Redmond town center or U-Village would be nice. Southcenter might work but it's quite a way from the current location.
