Sorry about the loss of your friend Sid. RUSHDRIVEN and I will be leaving for Italy on the 25th and I may make it the 24th, weather permitting. I'm looking forward to seeing Paul's car tomorrow.

It's nice to see location suggestions from several different angles....but think it's worth noting a few things in regards to the current location and draw. Again everyone is welcome but it's my opinion that this location proved several things and I'm not saying that a change of pace or move would be bad:

    1. Several Saturdays on Main we averaged over 40+ cars
    2. We saw some pretty cool cars show up- F40, SLR, Murci's, CGT, several very cool vintage cars (3 wheeler) and tons Ferrari's
    3. The first 430 Scuderia in the area showed up
    4. The mix of people and different makes and models proved this location
    5. We also had a couple of very cool meets and drives happen because of this event/location.

I realize this location is not optimal for everyone and many people drive from far away. I'd also add that I personally like the street parking and think the viewing of the cars from both sides of the street is what makes this location work/cool. The thing I enjoyed is seeing who is driving in and on busy days you can hear many cars coming before you see them. One of the biggest challenges is our weather and this event was suggested April - September and it's great that we're continuing it thru Winter I think that is very cool. One other reminder this thing did not get going...really going until May when it picked up steam.

Your photo shows also what's wrong with the location. If you look around it's really hard to gather people into a group. How do you leave the doors open? (except for us Murcs) There were noise complaints from the condos and no easy way to circulate and walk around cars without the danger of being hit. We were there numerous nice weekends this fall and the number of regular attendees dropped down to a small handful who were very local but would otherwise not show up. This just isn't the ideal environment for growing the interaction between participants and enthusiasts who also have to park. With all the cars in the area, we should see numbers easily twice this and be able to sustain it. Cars and Coffee on a bad weekend in Orange County will still draw 400 cars in the dark. In fact, they will likely run out of space when the weather really gets nice at that early hour. There are several goals, one to find a decent parking lot that's easy to find, decent coffee and food, and something that can grow and that means it's got to be central to most of the cars. It would also be nice to be able to start an hour later and still have great parking. As it is, at Old Main, by 8 AM on a nice day parking begins to get tight as bakery patrons show up. If you ever get the chance, go to Cars and Coffee in Irvine and see what this could become. That event is very fun.

I hate to admit it, but I agree with Tommy. I don't think that Main Street is ideal for an exotic meet especially if the meets starts getting bigger. Right now as it is, people have to literally get there as early as possible to get prime parking spots before the general public starts grabbing those precious parking spots. If we were to move to a larger parking lot as many on here has suggested, that won't be as much of an issue. Besides, from a photographer's point of view, it's difficult for me to get ideal photos (admittedly) when everyone is parallel parked.

Personally, I like the idea of using RTC as a meeting venue. I prefer that over Southcenter too.

Hey you and John don't have too much fun in Italy. You plan on hitting the factories?
I would love to go there some time. Enjoy and see you when you get back.

I was invited to meet with the CEO of Lamborghini and have a tour (long story) and John's joining me. We may get to tour other factories but we're not there all that long. I'll take lots of pictures.

Yea, that's the plan. I'll be at Old Main around 8 to grab something from the bakery before heading down. Should be fun to go as a group.

Count me out for any meetings that include that Kristopher guy. After hearing about him blowing someone's engine while borrowing their car and powershifting, then refusing to pay for the damages or take any responsiblity, I'll choose to stay far away. No respect at all for that guy.

    Hi Tim,

    Thanks!!

BTW, my car was the blue F360 spider with creme interior next to your 355.
I had a lot of fun at the meet.
I hope we have more of these larger gatherings. A lot of cool cars and people, not necessarily in that order. :)
I have more pictures and video I took with a different camera, if I get the time I'll post it on youtube.

The sun will be at 100%, clear, but cool.
No matter, I'll be out driving today!!!

    Vic in Seattle
