The holiday season has brought a few additions to my 1/32 scale Ferrari slot car collection. I thought I'd share with you. I'm also interested to see other similar collections.

First are two bodies made by Ocar Scale Replicas which I bought on Ebay. They are the 1969 312P spider and berlinetta. I'm planning to use them on the Fly 512S chassis. I already bought several Fly 512S cheap, like the one shown here (black Playboy longtail, which has a damaged body).

Next is an amazing model of the 312 T4 by SCR. The amount of detail is incredible! This is just too nice to race on a slot track (even though it has a magnet) and is certainly a match for more expensive scale models. It has steerable wheels, markings on the tires and there are even skirts supplied with the model that are probably for display purposes only.

Compared to the 312 T4 the Scalextric F1/87 is rather plain, yet it captures the coke bottle shape very nicely. Maybe I'll give the driver and cockpit a bit of paint detailing, but otherwise it looks fine. One minor gripe is that the red paint is a bit too bright.

I also came across another Scalextric F1 car on the internet that looked like it was enhanced by some individual. It looked very nice with the correct paint and decal detailing. So I searched Ebay and found an old Scalextric 312 B3B. My plans would be to detail it myself. It turned out that the Ebay seller also had the enhanced version, which wasn't done by one owner, but by Tecnitoys for Atalya. It was limited to the Spanish market and probably came in a blister with a magazine.
Upon arrival it was clear that the models were exactly the same, bar the paint and decal detail. Which shows that the old Scalextric already had amazing detail for its time and just needs some paint to show it.

Next up is the 312P '72 by Sloter. A very nice model of one of my favorite sports cars. A minor negative is the paint on the wheels, it's too shiny. But that can be fixed.

The last buy is a Porsche 911 SC by Ninco, which matches my 1 on 1 scale version :) I already have a Scalextric 308 GTB/M which I'm planning to paint blue like my 308. This way I can race my 308 and 911 against eachother ;)

(I know that the Ninco 911 has the Turbo wide body, but in real life that doesn't bother me at all).

In all I now have nineteen Ferrari slot cars, four of wich are Fly 512S chassis' with different bodies to be crafted on (the two aforementioned 312Ps as well as a 512M and 612 Can Am).

1/32 scale cars are becoming very detailed, in some cases as detailed as a BBR 1/43. As you say, almost too detailed to race. :)

I didn't know there were 1/32 kits. They could be an alternative to 1/43 kits which seem to be increasingly unavailable.

    Thanks for posting.

About the Ocar kits: be sure to check if the body is straight. One that I received was quite warped.

There are expensive kits as well for all kinds of Ferraris. But they are more than I'm willing to pay for a slot car.

That 288 GTO looks very nice too. Just some black paint on the window trim and maybe swap the wheels for the F40 ones and I think I'll try and find one myself.

Here are some other models in my collection. I also have another 512 BB/LM by Slotwings in blue/white Pioneer livery, very nice too.
