    Not a big deal, IMO...

Easily reparable. Won't hurt the value of the car one bit.

The damage looks to be superficial. IMO as long as there was no frame or structural damage, the value of the car won't be affected greatly, if at all.

What were you doing documenting and then publicly divulging on the internet, the damage on someone else's car?
I can't say I'd appreciate that if I were owner. (especially given that you didn't have the courtesy to blank his plate).

    Just a thought.....

    ?

do you mean he should've aided the owner is hiding the accident... so that he does not have to disclose it to a potential buyer and can ask for the highest price ...which he probably wouldn't have receive had the accident been disclosed?

...if you plan on having an accident you should probably do it on private property and out of view of the public's cameras

Hiding, or trying to hide, the evidence of any incident is not a good thing. I don't think it was the original poster's intention to "expose" a secret; but on the other hand, the idea that it shouldn't have been disclosed at all seems suspicious.

As others have said, the damage is superficial and won't effect the value of the car; but it'll be a neat little story for the next owner - if the current owner ever decides to sell in the first place. I have a piece of an F50 that suffered more damage than this, and it's value hasn't changed one bit.

It can affect the value in the sense that there could be prospective (future) buyers out there who want a mint car that has never had any bodywork, even minor.
    They will walk away.

It is not my intention to flame the OP so I hope the following is not taken personally - it's just a view which you can accept/reject as you see fit...

This is not a question of concealing an accident. We've all come across the phrase CAVEAT EMPTOR: If the owner chooses not to disclose this info when selling the car then that's buyers problem and an ethics issue for the seller - impact on material value etc is not being discussed...these are whole other issues....

I'm talking about manners. This is an issue of common decency and exercising sound judgement. Someone has damaged their car (indignity enough), why the need to publicise this on this internet (so that the car and owner can be identified)?
I can't stand it when people do this and as an owner I find it a gross discourtesy.
Put yourself in the same position as the owner and so will you......

    My two penneth worth....

Ouch! Could have been worse. I am loving the black.

I see no big deal posting this. I don't even understand the point you're trying to make. It's a car (Fcar) on a car forum (Fcar forum). I must say the antithesis, meaning it SHOULD be posted here. Thanks OP.

Do we all know a certain F50 owner in New Orleans who hosts a certain cross the state run each year? Has anyone ever noticed the front end of his car..........Can you say massive rock chips?

Yeah, I've seen photos of it. Almost looks like some sort of star chart. Anyway, at least that F50 is being driven & tracked rather collecting dust like in most private collections.

    I agree :)

I'm sure this could have been worse. Looks like only cosmetic damage, so it's not that big of a deal, just an unnecessary expense :(
