Let me start off by saying that these probably work fine in front engine applications, but in my Ferrari, it did not (or may be it ?did?), and probably won't for any mid engine car with the cats/exhaust in the engine compartment.

I took my car out for about an hour today, wanted to get some fresh gas and play around a little before the rain came. I was pulling into the Walmart parking lot when a BOOM! came from behind me and I looked in my mirror to see some light smoke floating around in my engine compartment and the smell of burnt plastic came to..

I pulled into the nearest parking space and opened my bonnet to see the Blazecut in pieces, rest on the cats. Phew! What a relief...I had it installed on the crossmember above the motor, which really was the only logical place to install it, it was touching nothing at all but I guess the proximity to the cats and exhaust in a car that can heat my garage for hours after a spirited drive was too much for the little tube that couldn't.

Anyway, it's more funny than anything else and I did email the supplier to see if there is anything that can be done, and to let them know where their application ends...
