    Hello from Germany,

at the moment there is a lot of uncertainty and concern from classic car owners regarding the EU plans to spread ethanol containing fuels.
I did some search and actually found some threads, but would like to learn more details.
The European Community (EU) plans - from 2009 on - to increase the ethanol mixture from 5% to 10%. This so called E10, some manufacturers say, might affect older engines, especially aluminium parts.
I suspect it has more to do with politics than with proven technical things.
But nevertheless I would like to collect experiences from you. As far as I know; in the US you already have ethanol blended fuels.
Did you expect any problems with, for instance, carburettors, aluminium tanks (!), FI components or other components ?

Best Regards and thank you in advance

    Martin
