I have an all wood experimental project for sale, is anyone here a home builder? The plane is in Washington State. If anyone is interested in knowing more, please send me a message. The plane is called a Barracuda, and it was designed by a local Boeing engineer and it won best new design at Oshkosh way back in 1976. It's will be a very cool plane when it's finished.

That's probably one of the best performing homebuilts there is barring the newest composite types. I know Jeff, the designer, from working with him at Boeing. That airplane is a fine example of all wood construction, well engineered, and fast. An archaic design now as far as structure goes but still competent.

I heard that he sold his plane (the prototype as pictured) to someone else. I thought his son Richard was going to keep it. I guess they just lost all interest in it after 31 years.

I have lost contact with Jeff. I know that his wife passed away but I didn't know that he had sold his plane. That was a beautiful piece of work from the design to the paint and the finish. Many people asked if it was molded plastic when they touched it.
Things change with time, I guess. I know I have.

The first time I saw his plane, I couldn't believe it wasn't fiberglass. It was an awesome covering job. That's too bad about his wife.
