Not sure if anyone would be interested here in purchasing a vehicle from the UK at what would be a substantially decreased price from the AUS equivalent?

Anyone? Drop me PM or post on here.

I'm sure if you are offering to pay the enormous Australian import duty you'll get lots of takers !

I was actually thinking of exporting the Ford GT to Australia but apparently nobody is really willing to jump through all the AUS importing hoops. Good luck!

I have access, through contacts, to various Ferraris, Bentleys, Lambos, Porsches and various other exotica marques.

If someone is looking for something specific, please let me know and I'll see what I can dig out.

ps. With regards the import tax, I thought it would be easier to supply a cheaper vehicle eg. higher mileage LHD 355 @ say $80k AUS with independantly verified PPI and then let the new owner deal with the tax as it may be easier for them to get a local valuation as this is what the duty is based on. Correct me if i'm wrong of course!

    ( $80K AUD + 10%duty + shipping ) + G.S.T + LCT + Lhd to Rhd Conversion + time (which = money) = proboblly not worth it.

a bit rich, if you consider then you have to freight, pay tax, worry about all that ADR crap, you could already get a car over here for potentially not much more, and you'd be able to sell it if you wanted to.

I had a look into this when I was working over in the middle east.

You could quite easily source a late model 355 for 50 Aussie or an early 360 for 70 odd.

My research led me to approx ~25K for Compliance Tags, ~25K for conversion. (for a 355) + plus 5K shipping (20ft container) + local taxes $$$$

The only catch was I was told you can no longer compliance a factory LHD car (for VIC anyways), you can only comply a factory RHD car (x singapore etc)

after doing the maths, you wouldnt get much change out of what a local car is worth.

Thats the way I saw it anyway.
