My local dealer price quote me $6900 per year for 458 extended warranty ? sounds right or high ? tks
New power warranty. Google it. It's a watered down version of the factory warranty and covers all key components but not for any oil or other leakages. Sent from my SM-G9350 using Tapatalk
Many threads here about the same subject (always again) ... WHY ? I have not asked for it on my '12 458. If afraid do you just pay that amount every year ? That's how Ferrari (dealers also profit) get rich ...imo
FWIW and quick reference: $6,300 for 1 year warranty extension ( Extension of the original warranty to a 4th year ) $9,900 for 2 years of warranty extension ( Extension to 5th year ) $4,500 is the base price ( MSRP ) , per year, for 1 year New Power Warranty, which is a limited version of the 3 year warranty. Happy to help, drop me a line! S
From what I can see , they offer extended warranty extension up to 2 years as the original 3 years , i.e cover everything . Then after that up to 12 years Power Service covers the main parts of your Ferrari vehicle: engine, transmission, suspension, cooling, air conditioning and heating, and electrical systems.
Over 6 Ferraris in the past few years, we've (knock on wood) only had very minor issues. Yesterday, our "quality built" Porsche Cayenne dropped (yes, I mean literally) the transfer case and caused the driveline equivalent of a dropped valve level carnage. Yes, extended warranties are insurance, and a lot of the policies are ripoffs and crap, but this is why I am a fan. At least in Ferrari's case, it's 1) factory backed 2) no hassle, aside from the usual dealer-FNA-factory debates when something breaks who gets the blame and 3) relatively speaking, it's expensive but not (too) overpriced.
No. If you go to the Ferrari dealer that you purchased the car from, they may waive the 101 points inspection fees each time you get the warranty. Otherwise you may need to pay a few hundred dollars in addition to the $4,000/$4,500 warranty fees.
About an extended New Power warranty for the 458: What documents are you supposed to get from the dealer upon buying the warranty? The New Power leaflet identifying you as the owner, identifying the car and with the general conditions of the program. What else? Kind regards, Nuno.
I renewed the New Power Warranty and received the New Power Booklet completed and signed by the dealer. No other documents were provided to me.
No booklets or anything. The warranty start and end dates are in the Ferrari system. Ask the dealer to print you the build sheet and at the bottom it lists the warranty period if any.
I was not in favour of all those extra insurances ... having a 2012 myself. But my friend just got his ... a pristine 2010 458 Italia and in two days he has a gb problem ... ... And he has the luck he got (free) 2 new years of Power Guarantee with it ...
i am getting a 458 this week, 2010, pristine, late production build (09/2010), it has 2 more weeks of extended powertrain warranty. Car just had it's annual 800 miles ago and had NO recommendations from the dealer service center...Service manager said some 458's have speed sensor issues in the tranny and some other problem that can come up with a $18k-$24k repair bill, and of course recommends me extending the warranty. Anyone experience or hear of these issues? Please advise. Thanks! And looking forward to being back in the club after not having a Fcar for a few years!
