I've been seriously thinking of buying a top notch non dry chemical extinguisher for my Mondi T Cab. But I'd like to know what types/brands of extinguishers others have bought and where they mounted them. Anyone got photos of their extinguisher mounts?

PS also how did they mount them. Any drilling?

    Thanx
    Dave

    Dear Dave,

I know of a source for the fire extinguisher mount shown in the pictures below and I can put you in touch with him. This same person told me that the run of the mill fire extinguishers cause a lot of damage to the aluminum parts of the engine.... It is recommended to use a halon or at least halatron extinguisher. Let me know if you would like to have me put you in contact with this person.

    Best,

    Ed

I'd be interested in that mount for my 328. I just got a halon ext and have it bungied to the passenger seat adjust lever. Just temp though. I'd be curious what other mounting options exist as well. PM me regarding getting in touch with your friend regarding the mount. Thanks.

Mine is just laying behind the front pasenger seat. No drilling - - no holes - - and who cares?____________

    Happy holidays, Hank

Jeff and I don't have backseats in our cars... If we leave an extinguisher rolling around in the little trunk area we have, it could damage the bodywork from the inside-out. I think the fire extinguisher mount is a good thing for a Mondial owner too but may not be as crucial as it is for 2 seat cars.....

Jeff, I'll talk to him. See, he is a private individual who makes them himself and is not a business.... I'll get back to you on it...

I´m making my own extinguisher mount for my 308 in the front side of the passenger seat. The requirements was to allow the movement of the seat for regulation, not to make new holes on the car, and to be as hide as possible, and also easy to take the extinguisher off.

So here it is, I´ll show you more photos fitted in the car, and post the drawings with measurements if someone needs them.
