    OK -

    I've got a question. I have an extra toolkit and roll that I bought a few years ago. The question is whether I should consider replating (cadmium??? at least I think that is what would be required) some of the tools since a few are a stained/looking a little out of sorts. Not exactly rust, but . . . . Or should I just hold on to them as they are? Any opinions as to what would be best?

    I'll try to get around to posting a few photos in a couple of days.

    Treat the rust with a light oil to stop it going further.

    I'm well into other collectibles where the absolute worst thing you can do is try to "improve" their condition. Collectors will spot it as non-original and that degrades the value.

    Interested in partially trading for an original pouch/books?

    So, who is on the short end of this potential deal, you or me?

    I've got the original pouch, all books, the registration card, the dealer's ORIGINAL invoice and sticker, the transfer sheet from the original importer to Grand Prix Motors (the second oldest Ferrari dealer in NA, 1 or 2 weeks after Ron Tonkin), the dealer's FLOORING cost information with the bank on my car, the original lease agreement, the bank financing statement, the special grease dispenser for the Blaupunkt automatic antenna, and a bunch of other wierd stuff.

    Dear Mr. Moderator:

    Mr. Synchro and I see each other about every 3rd weekend. I'm seeing him this weekend at a mini FCA event. We get along just fine, I was just trying to see what he might be willing to offer. YOU DON'T HAVE TO SHOUT.

    screw shouting, don't do it!!!!! there are plenty of people that would buy it, myself included, in whole or in part as is. replating ruins the patina.

    If I understand this correctly;

    I believe the moderator was addressing the original topic "Extra toolkit - should I replate?" when he shouted "Let it be"

    I also believe Mark thought the moderator was shouting at him for talking about our tangentile topic.

    On yet another note, I thought we see each other more often at wine tasting - BTW Vinado is having a Spanish tasting tonight from 4-7PM, 14 South Idaho Street, Seattle - not so far from you, eh?

    The key words I used were "Partial trade" implying there might be something el$e in the deal. Then again I thought you needed the pouch and it is actually DM that needs it, so I've caused far more confusion than intended.
