I came across this 250 GTO spider, which somebody sold on ebay. It is based on the regular GTO Berlinetta and somebody did a very nice job modifying it.

I liked it, but wanted to further customize it to make a model of the real world:

Aside from the obvious little modifications I had to change it back from RHD to LHD.

    Thanks.

Hehe, just needed a background for the picture. So I placed it in front of my T-38 flight simulator. Those are the instructions to blow the canopy from the outside.

    Thanks!

I wish I had a picture of the real car's license plate so I could mimick that as well. Other than that I'm missing the third frontal side vent. I didn't want to ruin the lovely paint job by cutting into the heavy metal.

Otherwise it is fairly close to the original, including the different engine.

Below are a couple of pictures of its sister car, which I once saw in Chicago. Totally gorgeous. And notice, this is not a kit car, this is a real Ferrari. So kewl!

i do see a major diffrence between these, and that lies with the trunk. Yet,
I have to admit, that the conversion is beautiful.

I wonder which one is closer to the original. Since we don't have a picture of the trunk from the real car it is hard to say.

However I do see a bunch of mistakes/omissions on this one like the painted window frame and the wrong color of the seats. And like mine it lacks the third vent slot.

Ferrari118, love your spyder and the background, great diorama.

Getting a little OT here, but what the heck: Shot from above, on the left the projector for the outside world, below it the ejection seat (charges removed, haha), keyboards etc on either side for the two networked computers, flight controls and on the right the flat panel screen for the cockpit instrumentation.

I fly MS Flight Sim with an add-on plane of the L-39 (Check jet trainer, which I flew in real life once) and X-Plane with an add-on for the X-15 suborbital missions.
