    Hi Friends:



    I wanted to let you know about an opportunity to serve right here in the South Bay as a volunteer at the Redondo Beach home of LAPD officer who was paralyzed as a result of being wounded while on duty. Extreme Makeover is in the final stages of their home and the keys will be handed over to their family tomorrow afternoon.



    That being said, the production people are in need of skilled and unskilled volunteers to work through the night to get this project finished. I had the pleasure of working on this site last night (until 4 o’clock this morning) and it was a very fulfilling experience.



    If any of you find that you can’t sleep tonight, come on down to the build site and lend your services and muscle. For you ladies, they will be doing all of the finish landscaping, hanging artwork and stocking closets, pantries and so on from very early tomorrow morning until they hand over the keys.



    There is something for everyone to do and all that you have to do is show up and get to work. I spent much of my time working with off duty police officers who had just finished their work shifts and came down to work straight through the night for one of the sister in arms.

    I donated some printing to the building company. I was there a few times to see the progress, truly amazing what they are doing & for a great cause!

    Just stopped by there-they'll be needing vols tonight about 1 for tearing down some heavy stuff-scaffolding, etc. I suppose. They're full right now. Heartwarming to see the turnout in support of one of LA's finest.

    It's 5:30 AM and I just got back from my second night at this project. I'll post some photos later. I'm too old to be doing 2 hours of sleep in 48 hours...

    Bruce, thanks for taking the time and trying to volunteer.

    They are passing the keys and moving the bus at 4 o'clock this afternoon.
