    Thinking about taking my wife to one of these eye laser surgery places to get rid of the contacts,any thing we should be careful about ? Has this eye laser thingy gotten safer over the years or not ? Feed back be much appreciated.

    my (ex-)girlfriend had it done... hmm, a couple years ago now.

    cliff's notes version:
    research EVERYTHING.
    make sure your wife is a good candidate for the procedure
    know as much as you can about the machines
    consult multiple surgeons
    don't even think about basing your choice on price or a time-frame due to some special
    join LASIK forums and talk to people there

    then, weigh things up. sight is something fairly important i reckon. my chick's procedure went perfectly, and all the indications for her candidacy were great so it was like sinking a 4-inch putt.

    i've seen stories of people who went into it totally unprepared, with the golf analogy as if trying to sink an 8 footer with a garden rake.
