I noticed that my F-1 warning light would flicker sometimes when downshifting at low RPMs particularly from 3 to 2. So I brought the car in to the dealer. The SD diagnostics showed no error codes and they gave the car a clean bill of health.

Last night, the car got stuck in second gear! Would not upshift or down-shift. Finally got neutral and pulled over. The F-1 warning light was flashing and after turning the car off and re-starting couldn't get any gears. Then after a few minutes of pulling paddles I get second gear and decided to try to limp home. This was a tough call because I couldn't shift into any other gears including neutral!

Got almost home but then stalled in second. Couldn't restart the car because it would not go into neutral. After letting the car sit overnight, I turned the key (foor on the brake) pulled both paddles and the car went into neutral!

So I start the engine and now the F-1 light is a steady "ON" and not flashing. Obviously this indicates an even worse problem.

Turned the car off and tried to re-start but now the car won't even crank. Checked the battery which is fine. But when I open the door or turn the ignition key, the F-1 pump does not prime at all! What does this mean?

Plan is to flatbed back to the dealer.

Preliminary report is that the hydraulic pump is bad. A new one is about $1500.
But still waiting to see what other problems exist?

Pump unit is the same as the Maserati unit but the Ferrari one is twice the price. Same part number too...

Sad that Ferrari has had so many of these failures of that POS pump/relay on the 360's and unfortunately gives what is a pure blast to drive such a bad name when people are looking at them and 99% of the time the F1 issue sways people in another direction. (Let alone what the real cost for that small pump probably is in real life). That could easilly be a recall item!
