Cool video of the first two F-35B jets being put in service for the Marines.

The "B" version of the F-35 is a very different jet than the Air Force's version.
It is the replacement for the USMC's Harrier jump jets.
STOVL stands for its "short take-off & vertical landing" capability.

Here's a video of the F-35B completing ship suitability testing aboard the USS WASP (LHD-1) off the coast of Virginia a few months ago in October 2011.

Very cool video. I hadn't seen much in the way of "action" videos before.

Angling the thrust down as it exits the flight deck is quite the visual.

I'm not the biggest fan of this plane but it's cool to see it in action.

I'm assuming the small amounts of steam/smoke you see on closeups of the plane while it's landing is normal?
