Once again I have no economic interest what so ever in this car I'm simply passing on information that has come to me. 1990 USA F40 Red / Black, 6300 miles. Serviced by Authorised Ferrari Dealer Last year ($15K ). Just inspected by Authorised Ferrari Dealer as well to validate current condition. Car is being sold as 100% stock. $425,000.00. If anyone has serious interest PM me and I'll put you in touch. Happy Holidays
Dear Jim: If the car was "100% stock" as you state, it would not have a "Black" interior. Which begs the obvious question: has the interior been modified? Best,
Joe I stated nothing. "I'm simply passing on information that has come to me." I was told that the Black MOMO seats that are currently in the car and the tubi exahust which is currently on the car will be removed before the sale and the original seats and exhaust will be put back. To the person who PM'd me. Information PM'd back to U. Best
Well technically the F40 interiors are red and black if you ask me. Only the seats are red, the rest is some shade of black.
Ryan: Technically, you are incorrect. In fact, other than switches/knobs/steering/mats etc, the F40's interior cannot be adequately described as Red and Black or some shade of Black. The headliner is off-White perforated vinyl, the dashboard, center console and firewall panel are Grey mohair fabric, and the door panels and floors are the standard Grey-Green composite material. Besides this, when the livery of a car is given, the reference is usually to the largest components within - the seats - and with the F40, the seats are always originally Red. This is why F40s are almost always referred to as Red/Red in livery. Please find below some interior images of a standard USA F40 for illustration. Additionally, for purposes of clarification, the car being offered in this thread, does not have Black MOMO seats. That information is incorrect. It has Red aftermarket seats, and it also has its factory-supplied Red original seats. It is the 39th USA F40 built, chassis number ZFFMN34A0L0087438, one of the nicer examples around. This car's history is very well known to me as I have seen it multiple times and the owner is my client. If anyone has an interest in this F40 in the form of a private purchase, please contact me directly as I am direct with the owner. I see your point Joe. But headliners on many cars are lighter in color and that is never included in the interior "color". And not to sure I would include the bare composite elements either. So while I agree red is a main ingredient, I still think black/grey could be added as a second color. The LM interior shots I have seen seem to show more black elements as well which might be stuck in my head, as they have no headliner, it is just black up there. They also just have a plain black "center console" area. And even seem to have a black cover of sort on the front half of the floorboards. I also have seen a few LM's with black inner door panels. A little OT I know. Check out the pics.... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ryan: We are speaking of a USA F40, 86438 to be specific (I must correct the erroneous digit), so, F40LMs and their interiors don't come into this discussion. Given your post, would you then describe the car in question as red with red and black/grey?
what? there's a car for sale? I thought this was the "F40 interior color designation" thread. you know, now that we got that air fence business cleared up
Just for a clarification for the thread: The owner of the F40 is looking to purchase a vehicle from us at RUF Auto Centre. The owner of the F40 asked that we not publicize the VIN as he did want to be hounded by brokers and such trying to get a piece of the pie. I called Jim to let him know about the car and he politely asked if he could post a thread on the car without the VIN in order to help. Many of us on this thread have an immense amount of respect for Jim and his input on this forum and that was the reason for me contacting him directly. More about the car: I asked the owner of the car to take it to the local Ferrari dealer to have an inspection done on the car so that I, and anybody I discussed the car with, knew what the exact current condition of the car was. The car does currently have OMP seats, aftermarket seat belts, Tubi, and cat by-pass installed. All OEM items are going to be re-installed on the car so it will be sold as stock. Please feel free to call or email me for more information on the F40 including the most recent inspection which we at RUF paid to have done so that we could represent the car correctly. Thank you, Jonathan Peck Sales Manager RUF Auto Centre
