    Dear Comrades,

After much prevarication I have succumbed to the most kind advice of Comrade Carsinsx with regard to his suggestion that I should acquire weight lifting equipment to enable me to lift the fibre-glass engine cover at the rear of the English F-40 Lightweight.

Clearly, I do not wish to sustain any injuries. So would welcome any suggestions as to which exercises should prove the most efficacacious. I have analysed the movements and it would seem that a large group of muscles are involved. Furthermore, I should be most appreciative of any explanation, diagramatical, or anatomical drawings highlighting the procedure for erecting the two part centre-hinged lollipop stick that supports the whole caboodle. My plan is to eventually be able to perform the function of lifting the engine cover with one hand and then manipulating the loolipop stick including its central hinged joint with the other hand, without any recourse to a third party whatsoever.

I thank you in anticipation of your kind assistance.

    With warm regards,

    512 Tea Are

I have it down to an art. No apparatus necessary. Just practice with the car. Lift with 2 hands, hold with one and handle the lollipop stick with the other. Agree though that it is bloody heavy

    Dear Comrade DM18,

Thank you. However, which weight training course did you follow? I am hoping that carsinsx, will come on here and advise me on the full procedural route to rear engine compartment-lifting nirvana :)

    With kind regards,

Ten posts a day, of medium length, should develop wrist strength sufficient to tear the lid off the car.

To this end? Please. I think you are fishing now Graham. It may be your birthday and all, but I have no desire to jump at your provocations. Take the bait back to the shop, it's stale.

    512Tea Are,
In all sincerity all that is need'd for your purpose are light weight's with an ascending and descending rep program. This way you will build the strength and endurance fiber's within your muscle's. Or I would be more than happy to offer my gratuitous service's pertaining to the assistance of such a demanding regimen, I just need airfare LOL!

    Dear Comrade texasmr2,

Interestingly, I have two friends who fly aeroplanes. One flies a 777 and was in Heuston yesterday. The other flies an Airbus on long hauls but does pop over to the United States of America occasionally. For myself, I absolutely refuse to get into any aeroplanes whatsoever. Have you noticed that none of them have bumpers (fenders) either on the back or front? This tells me everything I need to know.

    With kind regards,

    Dear Comrade 512 Tea Are,
You know my cure when flying, as well as ALOT of other's I'm sure, is to start drinking double's asap lol!

Concerning my input as to your lack of physical fortitude to safely, for yourself and the F40, lift the bonnett I stand by my suggestion. It has been many year's but I was into the sport of bodybuilding, only in a healthy sense, so I studied nutrition but I applied most of my study into learning about muscle's and their specidic function. That way I was able to manipulate a particular muscle or muscle group into doing twice the amount of work without putting structural stress on it, ie too heavy of a weight.

So as I have suggested try using weight's, in incremental step's toward's a specific goal which will suit your need, but your mission is basically centered on your tricep's and your lower lumbar muscle's and your stomach muscle's. The good thing about having strong stomach muscle's is the back support's the stomach and vise versa.
My entire reasoning is you will be leaning over the car, the angle is irrelevant, and you will need to lift in an upward's direction's so you basically only have two area's to focus on. I must warn you though that once you have achieved your goal and you seem to me to be VERY goal orienated is that the simple regimen, just so you could lift your F40's bonnet by one's self, you may find yourself wanting to achieve more physically.

Yes I tend to carry on but I enjoy helping my friend's,
    Gregg

    Dear comrade texasmr2,

Many, many thanks for your hugely solicitous post. I swim every day for one half of one hour in none stop circuits - I am training for the London Olympics :) I do have some weights and your excellent post has motivated me to commence a programme. I shall start tomorrow. Damn, it is tomorrow (12.25). However, I shall commence in the morrow.

All good wiishes from England and thank you for your kind attention. G'night

    With warm regards,

Good luck with your training my friend but I noticed that I left out the most important issue which is nutrition. Get lot's of protein and adjust you good carb's accordingly.

    Gregg

    PS,
I'm currently undertaking a training regimen that has been the most strenuous of my life/career! I've got possum's in the attic and mama aint happy, daddy need's some attention but the possum's are adhereing to a strict regimen of "that aint happening tonight"! Man this trailerpark SUCK'S!!!!

OK Graham. Your replies appear sincere enough to TexasMR2. How you knew about the opening of the 70,000 square foot fitness facility is beyond me. You must have spies everywhere! The grand opening is Feb 3rd. I would like to invite you as my guest. There are power lifters, bodybuiders and mixed martial arts instructors. All quite seasoned in competition, not those "personal trainers" that took a correspondence course and look as if they need to have trainers themselves. Very hard core and professional with years of experience. The "GYM" atmosphere can be intimidating so they can train you in my personal gym at my house and yes there is an indoor heated pool for your daily dip at both. They are most dedicated and willing to travel as well with several expressing a, let's see, we'll call it a wicked desire to visit the west coast and deal with early retirement issues for an individual. So, let me know your needs and perhaps I can be of service.
