I was talking to someone that knew a guy trying to leave a track in an f car (dont know if it was a 360 or 430) and the brakes sounded really bad. ended up he was metal on metal. was reportedly 45k to fix.

Is this really what a ferrari brake job costs? i heard 10-15 originally but i assume that is for pads/maintenance and 45k for the whole shabang?

really interested in this because was interested in getting a ferrari to track.

You would need to provide more information if you want any useful answer. What model and what brakes?

Realistically tires will cost you a lot more than the brakes. Steel brake rotors plus pads for a 360 would be about $700 for parts. If you have a 430 with carbon brakes it is a lot more but it wouldn't sound like metal on metal.

Depends if carbon ceramic or iron brakes. If an issues, depends if pads only or pad + rotors.

Person also could have had track specific pads--these can be quite loud and sound horrible to the uninitiated.

Iron brake pads can be had for about $300 (all wheels) for a 360 or 430 (same calipers and same pad size) and up.

Someone with CC brake experience can post or do a search--lotsa threads on these brakes and their costs.

CC brakes cost about 25K. Standard ones are cheap as mentioned above - about 1K all discs + about 350 usd all pads. I dont know what can cost 45K......

I put on my car special track/race pads on front and can confirm that they sound horrible - they squeal like hell.

Petr, have you tried the "fast road" Porterfield pads from Ricambi? They are silent, great bite from cold and virtually no brake dust.....perfect! :)

I have heard for CC brakes the pads are $1800/pair and rotors about $7500 each. That makes it about $33K plus labor.

Agreed CC will be around that price for parts, but labor is NOT going to be $12k.
