So the freakin' ****** tech geeks @ my main place of work have seen fit to block all web addresses that contain "chat"! So, now, when I have a few moments, I can not access F-Chat!

Man, I hate these trolls... sitting in the basement of some facility, deciding what I can and can not look at on the web. They are watching me, BUT WHO IS WATCHING THEM?????? Probably wacking it to the bikini thread as I type...

Is there a way around this?????????

What are the rules of your company on using the internet for non-work related surfing?

I am not employed by the pile of crap I work at (thank GOD!).
We are a contract group. They even make sure our ID badges to get into the hospital do not have anything that would associate me with the hospital, which is fine.
So, as long as I perform my job, it is of NO consequence what I look at on the web. I even have to have a unique name and password to use the darn system, so it is not like every terminal is open to the "public".
Computer nazis...... I hate computer nazis!

For security you block IRC (Internet Relay Chat programs - AIM, mIRC, Yahoo Messenger, etc) ports at the firewall to protect against trojans, viruses, hackers, etc. The implied intent of using web filtering tools, to include the word "chat", is to reduce non-productivity. But, I'd much rather have my team-mates available for the job (using idle time for some innocent surfing) then have them out doing who knows what ;) So, I use an effective firewall strategy instead.

try togo to kproxy.com then in the address bar, goto fchat- its an anonymous redirected internet proxy. in other words it may get you through without the techies seeing fchat come through. It worked here with myspace until one of the dingy young uns told me hahahaa I can still get to myspace!!

    It should work....good luck!

You have a smart employer...statistics show that an average Americam employee waste ~2 hours per day surfing the web...that is billions of dollars per year of wasted productivity...
