Forgive me F-Chat for I have sinned. Its been forever since my last confession. Since then I have committed the following sins: I have coveted other cars including a number of 911s, a Lexus, 2 280SLs a TR6 and even the new Turbo Miata. I have not checked the tire pressure in several of my cars for well over a month. I have not washed the Suburban, Volvo or Toyota truck in over a year. Summer before last, I let the battery electrolyte get low in my Transalp. When I was in Med School, I once used a piece of flint sandpaper to hone a brake cylinder in my BMW 2002. When I was in college, I once put a quart of convenience store motor oil in my Opel. When I was in high school, I brought my Moms Plymouth Valiant home one late, stormy night. I sat in the car for about ten minutes to let the rain slack up and ran inside. My father angrily woke me up the next morning because I left it idling all night. For these sins I seek forgiveness.
You had an Opel? Cool, what color was it. I saw one the other day. Interesting car... I've got to go see a doctor about this illness. Dr "Who always wants what he doesn't have" Tax ps I had a Dodge Dart. Remember those? Pushbutton tranny. I used to buy oil by the 5 gallon bucket. Everytime I put gas in, I had to put oil in. Ah, back in the day. Nobody ever gave me any trouble in that car cause they could see that I had absolutely nothing to lose.
Light green Opel 1900, stripper. Valiant also with the push buttons, way Buck Rogers! Had a Slant 6; sold to a farmer who wanted the engine for his tractor.
'74 Dodge Dart here also. Tried to kill it since new, but it never died. What ELSE are you supposed to use for a brake hone????LOL! Later! PS Don't you think that No Name oil comes from the same dinosaurs???????
Hahaha, that is too funny, and it did not run out of gas or overheat. Man what a car! ... that is impressive! Pete
Hey, I STILL have a dart. See profile. Had 3 different kinds oils in it at one point. Formulas, not just brands. Has never seen a 60/40 mix of coolant. EVER. Put 6000 miles on it with a bad accelerator pump (carb). Drove it 12 miles home with no brakes. Transmission hasn't seen a kind act in God knows how many years.
Ever seen a 27 year-old cherry tree blossom? Had sex with a preacher's daughter in her dad's car. Three times.
I learned to drive on a 62 Valiant. Spent a lot of time fishing out those push buttons when they disappeared into the dash. Ended up lunching the engine.
