Vasco, I assume you are referring to the salad dressing comment?

If so, it was a reference to "Newmans own" salad dressing, created, marketed and promoted by the actor...Paul Newman.

As in the new BB owner..Paul Newman.

Geez, it really takes all the humour out of it when you have to explain.... :(

as of now there are going to be about 30 people attending. Included in the line up of cars are 9 Ferrari's and 2 Lambo's. It's going to be great seeing everyone again, and it will also be a great way for the new owners to meet everyone.

Paul, the suspense of waiting for some detailed driving impressions has been weighing on my mind all weekend and you tease us with "it ran great". i know you'd rather be driving than typing but come on....throw us a friggin' bone here....

    Hey Brett,

The car (any BB I imagine) is awsome, its not the kind of pull you get from a hemi but it pushes you right along effortlessly. The sound is incredible over 3K and the handling is just as impressive. There is no body lean, it goes where you point it with very little steering input. Road feel is perfect but what surprised me the most is the ride and comfort. The car is smooth, makes my camaro feel like its a floor jack compared to the soft ride of the BB. The seats are comfortable, my girl friend fell asleep in the thing. Cruising along at 120K the car is quiet (almost too quiet) but once you get on it, it gets a real nice 12 cyl sound. Everything works great on the car, the shifting and so on is no problem, no complaints going into 2nd when cold, etc... Another surprise, the fuel mileage is good considering. Half a tank for the weekend and thats over 3 hrs of driving with stop and go with the odd burst of running it up through the gears. I was impressed completely and to me it might be the perfect ferrari.

    Paul.

thanks for indulging me Paul. a very, very cool car. i am not surprised regarding the comfort level you describe. you don't win all the great endurance races europe and north america have to offer without being able to make the driver comfortable. of the hundred or so TO to MTL drives i've done i've always found that i feel the best getting out of either one of the two cars i've had compared anything else.
milage, well, what can you say? the problem for the 12's is less about bad fuel economy and more about gas that is just to expensive, in my opinion. the 400 would get 800km to the 120 liter tank. that's full highway (again TO to MTL) but fast, averaging around 160-200kph the whole way.
the sound must be great.probably slightly different than the 60 degree V but equally beautiful i'm sure.
and yes,in my opinion anyway, the BB is amongest the 'quintessential' ferrari's.
