I'm an owner, and I voted yes. But I don't really understand the benefit of an owners-only forum as against the existing breakdown of topics. I think it is more important to have topics posted to the proper forum, so that information can be found. Just look at the confusion in the "general forum" of topics ranging from timely and meaningful to total crap. I personally think that keeping topics relevant to the purpose of this website and keeping subjects in their correct categories is more important than having an "owners-only" area.

I think it would be very difficult to determine if one actually has a Ferrari or not.

People could come up with Serial numbers from cars that they see at car shows or on the street, or even at their local dealer, or even from for sale ads. Photos? please.

    Try proving I DON'T own a Ferrari.

    Just my $.02.

I apologize for not reading this thread in its entirely, to get to the genesis of the idea for it, but- take me as an example- i don't currently own a Ferrari, but have owned six in the past- can weigh in on the merits of 550's, had two of 'em, etc. FWIW, an "owners" thread would preclude this kind of input.

Keep in mind...at one point we all DID NOT own a Ferrari. I really enjoy this form, it has assured me that owning a Ferrari will not be as much of a nightmare as I once thought. However, when I do own one, I would certainly NOT post any VIN #'s on here for fear that someone out there may attempt to do something illegal.

This isn't going to be such a big deal that people are going to want to lie to get in.

Neither was the old F-chat and yet we had people doing it all the time. How do you think the F-chat Police got so good.

I vote NO because the board is already fragmented as it is.......we don't need another forum...........there's too many already.

In regards to your concern and reasons for the OP I just ignore the answers that aren't relevant IMHO and try to make my posts as clear and specific as possible....and in the correct forum.

I voted "no" on the owners-only forum. I'd rather dispell hearsay in the open than having it go unchecked while we spend time in an owners-only forum.

Another reason for voting "no" is that it will shut out Ferrari mechanics, former owners, and other real experts.

I´m not an owner and I haven´t voted yet, but I´ll vote no.

The big feature of Ferrarichat.com is getting the first hand info from owners and non-owners on all sorts of Ferrari´s. From 308 GT4 to Enzo, from Mondial Convertible to 412P, from 246 GT Dino to 250 GTE and back again. Another attraction is to be able to be part of discussions amongst actual owners, to be able to hear their tales about daily ownership. Not just talking about how great Ferrari actually is, but just to get a little insight in what it means to own and use such a wonderful car.

Isn´t this forum about sharing the passion? Owner or non-owner?

Are there really circumstances in which you´d need to distance yourself from non-owners? Surely, we aren´t that big a pain in the neck, are we?

I can fully understand the circumstancial need to contact owners, but as Wayne said, the current format of Fchat provides in that. Just make sure in your topicheader, youre looking for owners reactions.

I voted yes. Not because I think it's a good idea. I doubt it would get much use, but anyone that feels the need to be segregated should have a place to go. If the Owners section is not model specific then the threads will be a real mish mash of info. I tend to believe that the topics would not be very in depth.

As an owner I voted, YES! Ths closest thing we have right now to an owners only forum is the tech section.

You already have this feature on another site go use it if you want. Ferrarichat.com is a place for everyone wether you own one or not. It is about the passion.

It would be very embarrassing for you to pass a street photo of a Ferrari or post a serial number as your own then the real owner bust you on this site.

Another thing is that owners meet frequently in real life. What would you do if you're invited for events and never show up in your F-car?
