We turned away a few contestants from the Toy Rally this year similarly. For whatever reason, the people did not know they had to be pre-registered. Sorry you got turned away. On such a nice day I would have recommended a drive up AIA past Jupiter Island to Jensen Beach to pass the time.

Different standards are sometimes applied to different events.
If a person had a car in the concours at the breakers, they would rightly be upset with a spectator sitting on their fender, because the spectators there are supposed to be respectful, and sedate.
At the PBSCW kids are somewhat expected to do all sorts of things out of curiosity / excitement and car owners are left to defend their rides.
While I am sure Fred would support turning away non registered Toy Rally participants, being turned away by Cavallino is not acceptable? I know thew track and concours are available by ticket at the gate, but the Jet reception, Yacht hop, and other events are by registerd attendance only from my understanding.
I'm not sure what Fred was upset about, but based on Mark's comments I'm guessing the same issue happened to him.

This was a non issue at PBSCW. Parents were very respectful and kept kids in tow. There was a lot of security much more than last year. I applaud Scott and John for lowering the ticket price to $30 in these economic times and letting kids under 12 in for free. I feel it is very important to allow everyday people see cars like P 4/5 and Dino Competizione. I realize how lucky I am to own them and feel a real obligation to share them with the world. Everything that gets used gets dinged. You fix it.
    Big ****ing deal. Not.

The times they are a changing.

I remember showing up at the track for a Porsche event that I had refistered for on line and received confirmation that I was "registered".

I get there and they say I'm not on the list. It turns out that you have to be accepted after the registration. They said many people have made the mistake. I suggested they change their phraseology to say "Your application has been accepted." I don't know if they have corrected this yet sinve I haven't been back yet. I'll go back but it was a bit of a pisser.

    Now I know the ropes.

My unsolicited advice. It probably wasn't meant to be a slight. Find forgiveness in your heart.

we had a very nice time at Mar-a-Lago - great people and great cars. fell in love w/ the Lancia B24S Aurelia. I hadn't signed up until late saturday.

Our car there for a photo shoot after everyone had cleared out . . . (except for the spectacular Delahaye)
