Monaco has always been a place to be seen. Liz Taylor, etc. now the stars arent glamorous, just kinda trashy.
This is a Disney script .. In the real world, Charles will crash in the last lap of FP3 and not being able to do the qualy. Max will win with 15 seconds gap. Perez second and Alonso third. Russell 4th Lewis 8 th lost with the new setup. Sainz 11th after a jumpstart penalty..
Monaco is a race people go to just so they can tell people they've been there. I don't believe there is any place around the circuit where you can see more than a small portion of it, maybe on a balcony somewhere. You're better off watching on TV. I remember my two trips to Long Beach that way. A general admission ticket is an expensive joke.
Tickets sure as hell aren't cheap but you'll be getting closer to the cars in MC than anywhere else. But you are right, the vast majority of people that go to MC for the race don't care about the actual race, it's just to say they've been in MC.
I still think RedBull will be the favorite here. They, I think would have projected adjustments that can be made to take pole. Even if not they can keep it close enough and win from the 2nd row. Tyre wear again.................
if they don't qualify on the front row it's hard to win, with or without great tyre wear. Look at what Ricciardo did with a broken engine in 2016 or whatever it was, or Alonso last year.
I expect Leclerc to feel under pressure at home, and to commit one of his usual mistakes, once again. Monaco is not a place I like.
Having Monaco on the F1 calendar nowadays is total anachronism. For years it hasn't been a serious place to unleash 20 modern F1 cars in a World Championship. If a place like Monaco was applying now to hold a GP, it would be turned down. They should keep it for historical racing, and the classic car auction.
Just make a big charity, F1 cares for all of you poor souls race etc etc. Its a procession unless crash/rain. Even then there is no major passing. Pits or crashes yield movement up the field in most cases. Seeing a slower car finish first there is artificial. If F1 was at all serious about 'racing' Monaco gets removed lol. Maybe make a Monaco spec F1 car and use it for the charity race.
disagree. most of these races come down to qualifying position. what better place to watch all out driving on a road circuit!

Well, I agree and disagree. There are more boring race tracks on the calendar than Monaco. A lot of it is in qualifying but its also not making a mistake either on the track or in the pits. Variety is a good thing. Make the car makers work for it. Give them a challenge. And the weather there is always a question mark in the spring. Its still one of the most fun places I've been to an F1 race.
You're always better off watching any race on TV, but if you know where to sit (top row of K1, K2, K3) you can see not only from the exit of the tunnel all the way over to the swimming pool, but can also turn around and see a good portion of the start/finish line. While tickets are more expensive these days, I've been attending for over 30 years and can assure you that the best seats are much cheaper than comparable tickets for Miami or Las Vegas- of course travel costs are much higher for those of us in the US, and hotel rooms in town are very hard to come by (I've had mine booked year-to-year for ages).
Mmmm, yeah but once in a while its nice to see the actual pace these guys are going lap after lap... https://www.tiktok.com/@f1andreea/video/7106257540144532742?lang=en
Over the years Monaco has become a bit of a parody of itself. At one time you could walk around the track, get close to the cars. Now, almost every area of access has been blocked. Prices have become so prohibitive that the average fan can't afford to stay (my previous 3 night minimum stay is now a 5 night min stay, and the price is almost $3000/night !). I do save on tickets as my hotel overlooks the course though :/ I think you are better of visiting Monaco for the Historic GP event. To be honest, I prefer the town once the GP has been cleared out. It's not what it once was...
Regardless of the circuit, being at the race, being in the environment and in the company of thousands of other racing fans is fun. I like Monaco.
I've been to at least 20 Grands Prix from 1975 to 2015, so if I never go to another one, I'm satisfied.
So Mercedes introduced this static display at Nurburgring several hours ago. Is this the new B-Spec W14 that was supposed to be at Imola? We'll see in 6 days time. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
