IDK about the new snoot on it.. Its a bit bulbous, like an old Italians nose..
Looks like a RedBull. Im so shocked lol --Via Autosport Mercedes reveals 2024 W15 F1 car at Silverstone The Mercedes Formula 1 team unveiled its new W15, the last car to be raced by Lewis Hamilton before his move to Ferrari, at Silverstone on Wednesday morning. AUTHORAdam Cooper UPDATEDFEB 14, 2024, 11:30 AM Image Unavailable, Please Login The W15 car is due to be given its track debut on the short international version of the circuit, with Hamilton and his team-mate George Russell both making brief appearances on what is classed as a 15km demo day. The first proper running will be in the form of a 200km filming day in Bahrain on Tuesday, on the eve of the start of official testing. This year's car is hugely significant for the Brackley team after two disappointing years since the start of the current ground effect regulations era in 2022. The W13 struggled badly with bouncing and porpoising, and while Russell scored a victory at Interlagos, the team slipped to third in the constructors' championship. Last year's W14 did not represent the hoped for step in performance and underwent a major revamp after just a few races. Image Unavailable, Please Login Mercedes F1 W15 PHOTO BY: MERCEDES AMG It failed to log a win in a season dominated by Red Bull and the team scored fewer points than the previous year, although it did move ahead of Ferrari to claim second in the championship. The team underwent a restructuring in April, with Mike Elliott moving to the role of chief technical officer and James Allison swapping roles and returning to frontline action as technical director. Elliott subsequently left the team in October. The W15 is thus the first car designed and developed on Allison's watch, and represents a major change from its predecessor as the team attempts to close the gap to pacesetters Red Bull. "We're changing the concept," team principal Toto Wolff noted recently. "We're completely moving away from how we laid out the chassis, the weight distribution, the airflow. "Literally there's almost every component being changed because only by doing that, I think we have a chance. Image Unavailable, Please Login George Russell, Mercedes W15 PHOTO BY: MERCEDES AMG "We could get it wrong also. So between not gaining what we expect, to catching up and making a big step, and competing at the front, anything is possible." "The design of any car is an iterative process. And a long one at that," Allison explained on the W15 design. "It stretches back to last year. A new car enables the team to make bigger alterations that are not possible during the season. These are decisions that are taken during the preceding summer." McLaren is also giving its new MCL38 its maiden run at Silverstone on Wednesday, although the teams are using different versions of the track.
McLaren launch image trickery points to its 2024 F1 car secrets Some intriguing trickery in the launch images of McLaren’s new Formula 1 car has hinted at one of the areas of “innovation” the team may be looking to keep secret. AUTHORJonathan Noble UPDATEDFEB 14, 2024, 11:37 AM 0 Image Unavailable, Please Login While from initial looks the new MCL38 that was revealed on Wednesday morning appears to be a straight evolution of last year’s car, the team has hinted about there being some radical aspects to it. In the press release quotes issued after the car images were made public, team principal Andrea Stella said: “There are a number of innovations on the car, but not all the areas we want to address have been completed for our launch-spec car. “Those areas now become the focus of our in-season development, which is already in progress.” No further details were offered about exactly what Stella was referring to, but close examination of the photos of the new MCL38 hint at it going the extra mile to keep one area closely guarded. Focusing on the floor edge of the car, a clear difference can be seen in the side-on image of the 2024 challenger and the front three-quarters shot. As can be seen in the main image, the side view has a notable warped scroll edge to help better utilise the airflow around the sidepod and floor area, while the more front-on shot features just a flat edge. Image Unavailable, Please Login McLaren MCL38 PHOTO BY: MCLAREN The change in floor design between the photos is clearly a deliberate move by the team in how the images were processed. It is highly unlikely that the team would have taken one photograph with one floor, and then changed the floor to retake the car from another angle. So either the original photo was photoshopped afterwards to remove the detail, or the images are detailed renders that have been altered. Either way, it suggests that McLaren did not want to give away too much detail about what it was doing with its floor in angles where some of its ideas could be better understood. Stella’s earlier reference to some aspects of the car being a work in progress confirms what he said at the livery launch earlier this year. Talking about the efforts that had gone in to understand some handling quirks that had been introduced through its major in-season development programme last year, Stella referenced there being some clever designs at play. “There’s some…areas which I wouldn’t disclose just for a matter of protecting our IP, let’s say, but this was one of the priorities of the winter,” he said. He explained that addressing the issues fully would take a bit of time into the 2024 campaign. “Some of the benefits may be embedded onto the launch car, but actually some of the projects belong to a workstream that may land trackside with some other developments,” he said. “Some things require a few months to be addressed, let’s say.”

So looks like McLaren are doing their usual trick of turning up with a half baked car and hoping to catch up mid season?! If true, that’s a bit poor from them. At least their car doesn’t look like a 100% RB clone…!
Who said it looks like a Red Bull lol, no it doesn't haha. Stunner of a car from Merc. Note the 4th element of the front wing is only attached via a legality wire thus creating the Y250 vortex feeding those really note P shaped sidepods, which I am certain will be updated shortly with a longer feeding element and the bottom Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jason Hassett on X: "Newey is definitely just toying with the other teams: - They've reattached the nose to the first element when everyone has copied them and gone to second. - They've gone overbite intake when everyone has changed to their old intake style (or variant of it). - They've used the… https://t.co/Kw8Trsr9yy" / X (twitter.com) Red Bull Leaked

Author Alex Kalinauckas Updated Feb 15, 2024, 9:00 PM Image Unavailable, Please Login As could be seen in the spy shots captured at Silverstone's on-site hotel during Red Bull's shakedown running on Tuesday, the RB20 unveiled on Thursday features long cooling gulleys that run backwards from the halo along the length of its engine cover. This appears to be very similar to the design Mercedes used on its W14 2023 car, even after it abandoned its 'zeropod' sidepod design to take up Red Bull's widely adopted downwash solution. The similarities with the W14 do not appear to stop there with the launch specification of the RB20, although team boss Christian Horner notably did not rule out any changes in that timeframe when asked about such a possibility. The RB20 unveiled on Thursday appears to also have a vertical sidepod radiator inlet, under even more heavily undercut sidepods than the RB19. This was first seen on Mercedes' first 'zeropod' car, the W13. But the RB20 does retain the downwash sidepod solutions further down, while its nose and other front-end parts appear similar to those Red Bull was running at the end of last season. Image Unavailable, Please Login Red Bull Racing RB20 Photo by: Red Bull Content Pool The floor bolted onto the RB20 for the launch event is noticeably bigger and simpler than the complex and critical Venturi tunnel floors required for F1's current ground-effect rules. However, this is likely a ruse aimed at keeping the car's most important aerodynamic device secret from rival squads for as long as possible before 2024 testing begins. The much-discussed Mercedes-like elements underneath the RB20's sidepods could similarly be an attempt to sow confusion – reminiscent of the then Alfa Romeo-branded squad releasing launch images of its 2023 car with a fake floor edge last year. The RB20's livery contains no notable differences from the RB19, nor the seven previous Red Bull designs since its current colour scheme was adopted back in 2016, bar the shade of yellow the team incorporated in its livery becoming darker back in 2017. Speaking at the RB20's launch, Horner said: "It's an evolution of last year's car, obviously, and it's our 20th version. Image Unavailable, Please Login Red Bull Racing RB20 Photo by: Red Bull Content Pool "The guys haven't been [sitting still], it's not conservative, and you can see they've been quite aggressive in certain areas and still pushing the boundaries. "I'm conscious that our opponents are still pushing very hard and I've seen a few cars that have been released that look similar in theme to what we launched with last year. "You can see that all the men and women behind the scenes have been working very hard [on the RB20] and some of the detail on the car is absolutely exquisite." Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez also offered their thoughts on the RB20's design. Verstappen told reporters that after he had first seen the car's initial design drawings at last year's Abu Dhabi season finale his reaction was, "wow, that's quite different in a way" and he was "quite happy with the direction that they chose". Image Unavailable, Please Login Red Bull Racing RB20 Photo by: Red Bull Content Pool Perez said: "You wouldn't imagine us changing the concept as much and I think it's really brave from Red Bull to do that." There was no mention of the investigation into allegations currently overhanging Horner, which he denies, at the launch event's stage element, but questions on the situation from media including Autosport were restricted as it remains an ongoing legal matter.
RB just blurs out all details on the floor/ sidpods. Probably fake wing and wheels too. In fact they probably finished this render last year lol.
It's not entirely clear yet as they've hidden the details very well. Some saying it's a very small thing shark mouth sidepod intake, which I think is more believable. Red Bull might be shooting themselves if they went vertical intake.... Overall I am seeing Mercedes and Red Bull again are the most clever with their designs, with the edge going to Mercedes and that Y250 introducing front wing and distinctive 'P' sidepod intake and undercut. Now let's see who's fast. I miss @FastIan
When I heard the RB20 on the test track at Silverstone yesterday, it certainly sounded different.....more turbine like.
