At the end of the season last year (2020), my 2003 f360 with 18K miles sprung a leak or the reservoir overflowed after a long ride. At the beginning of the 2020 season, on several occasions, my car would get stuck in reverse gear while backing out of the garage and I would need to shut the car off in order for the car to disengage reverse. The car would drive and shift normal after I shut the car off. I completed a bleed cycle with my Launch and I now noticed that the red transmission light illuminates when I’m going through the gears. Prior and after I preformed the bleed cycle, with the key on engine off, I noticed that my f1 pump would cycle every 15 seconds for a brief second. Is this an indication that the accumulator is losing pressure or normal? Also, I realize that I might have several issues going on at the moment and appreciate some input. FYI f1 pump primes for a duration of approximately 15 seconds when opening the driver’s door.

Sounds like you still have air in the system. How did you bleed it? Did you do both the clutch and actuator (the later requiring you to remove the actuator from the gearbox to get to the 3 bleed screws)

Almost definitely your accumulator or a combo of leaky solenoid

Map pressure in launch and see how graph looks against time axis

Also look at leakage rates on and off

Thank you for the reply. I only used the lower bleed nipple affixed to the transmission.

Thanks Dom, I was hoping you would chime in. I read a few of your posts and found them to be very informative. I’m not very handy with Launch, but I’ll see if I can give it a try. Would a solenoid cause the reservoir to overflow? I initially was thinking that the reserve relay was getting stuck which was preventing reverse from disengaging.

    You are welcome

Not thinking leaky solenoid would cause overflow

The relay could also be going since you have been cycling too much

Did you ever experience a mis shift or dropping to neutral

    More info is needed

Just an update! It appears that the accumulator was the actual culprit in this case. I would like to send a special thanks to Flash32 (Dom) for all of his shared knowledge in identifying my F1 issue. I'm extremely grateful for all his help and he definitely helped me eliminate all the guess work in identifying the issue. He also gave me a crash course on operating the Launch 431V. Thanks again Flash

    Thanks for the kind words

Let me point out that you know your way around a wrench which made the remote diag and fix a piece of cake

Teamwork ..two Italians fixing an Italian car ..lol

We fixed it in a flash ..
