    Is it possible to:
    1) remove the F430 F1 actuator and tighten the bleed screws
    2) reinstall the actuator w/o any special alignment tool/SD3
    3) bleed the air out of the system/actuator without any SD3 or Leonardo computer?

My understanding is the formal shop process is to unbolt the actuator, connect the SD3 and then put the actuator through a series of shift motions while loosening and tightening the bleed screws at a certain time and in a certain order. Then the actuator is bolted back up to the trans (not sure if there's any alignment tool for this or SD3 setup needed)

Is there a non-SD3 DIY process to do this that will ensure both the actuator and EV lines are free of air?

Once the actuator is removed, can it be bolted back up after the screws are tightened w/o needing to 'align the lever'

It requires and SD3 and the tool. It would be possible to develop an electronics system to run the pump and open the valves at the required time, but but you'd still need the alignment tool.

    No alignment tool necessary.

You will need an SD3 (or equivalent) to run the bleeding program and self-learn when it's back together.

    Good to know, thank you

Is the self learn for the gear selection/engagement sensors?

If one has an Autoenginuity diagnositic interface that can activate the 5 actuator solenoids individually but doesn't have a specific bleed program, can you accomplish bleeding the actuator properly. And is there a particular sequence of solenoid activation that would be followed?

Disregard my prior post. The Autoenginuity has the bleed function. It worked like a champ!

I found a video of how it works on a bench. You can see the bleed screws tightened as the actuator runs in test mode

yea, it sure has to be tighten or there'll be red fluid splashing out?

No, those screws open bypass ports.

It was interesting that no fluid was coming out prior to him tightening the screws (not sure where in the process the video started though). I assume it's just a normal solid body screw and you unscrew it until air and a bit of fluid runs out of the hole to bleed, then tighten it to close the port?
