I counted 20 helicopters in the air one time. They were landing 4 wide at this one spot(outside of Turn 1 security check) in 2012.
Nope. Just bikes. Re: the suites, yeah, wow. I don't think there are any at T1 at all this year. They had reduced them quite a bit last year.
There'll probably still be a few, but the helo shuttle activity is but a fraction of what it was the first year or two.
What's the reason for the drop off? Cost? The novelty wore off? Combination? Sounds like a fun but perhaps slightly unnecessary way to get there.
Nice aerial shot of COTA USGP preparations, from yesterday. Quite a bit of new track shaving there, and you can see the new kart track... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Southwest airlines??? probably on approach to Bergstrom. Planes fly overhead during the race depending on wind direction. Nice shot.
In In the red corner weighing in at 80 Kg from Germany,Europe, Sebastiannn it wasn't me Veteeeeel! In the blue corner weighing in at 75Kg from Holland,Europe , Maaaad Maaaax Verstappen! Ok guys come out racing, and no holding on to each other into the corners yaalll!
See attached, grid line up for Masters F1 and schedule. Cant say 100% for sure, but everyone im talking with says the Masters F1 paddock will be open to the paying public.
Honestly, I may be looking more forward to the Masters stuff than the F1 race. Can't wait to see (and hear!) some of my all time favorite cars in action.
Question about that: Do they all run DFVs? Either way though they'll be the best sounding cars out there this weekend, and it won't be close...
Yes, this grid will all be DFV. Yes, the sound alone is worth the entry. We do see some Ferrari V12's with the 312's. Also a Matra or two show up in the European races. This time, all DFV.
I think a lot of the VIP Suites have moved, to what I call "The Tent", back over off the Plaza. The Kart Track takes up 25% of Lot A??? Gadzooks....
Rain for Sunday morning?? I need to upgrade my phone or I won't be able to take pictures...sigh. That's a cool shot
Great weekend of racing, qualified 11, finished 5th on Saturday, only second time in the car, really happy with the result. Saturday in our pits after the race was epic, must have been a few thousand people walking around. Sat out the Sunday race, too wet and too little time in the seat for me. Very cool! I was wondering which car was yours after seeing your posts before the weekend. We really enjoyed our walk through the support paddock on Saturday. I'm a mechanical geek so could spend hours pondering the various nuts and bolts on display. Very cool to see all the different ideas and engineering approaches to making a car go fast. My oldest got to try on the Shadow (still needs to grow a bit), and I thought the inboard front discs on the Lotus were an interesting design choice. Great picture of your son, glad to see he got into the car. The car he is in is Keith Freiser's Shadow, that car is perfect. The guys in the picture are from J+L racing, they support my car as well. As for the inboard discs, they did not last long, cooling problems and were eventually placed outboard again.
No COTA? Were they the same group that just did the USGP, or was it the other one? I can't remember... ETA: Never mind. It was them. http://www.mastershistoricracing.com/race-results/
