Karen Horner is no different than Karen Toto. As for my opinion that MB gets a pass, let's see how this plays out, particularly with regard to the mirrors assuming they aren't changed come the first race. Maybe the FIA will help them the way they did with DAS (tombazis told them to put the system on the steering wheel).

#F1 Helmut Marko at #AMuS gives his estimate of the current order "Ferrari first, Red Bull second, then Mercedes and McLaren. For now!"

we can all probably agree that Horner and Wolf could just stop talking and the season would be better!

As dumb as it may be to trash talk your opponent, and thereby inspire them to beat you even more, even if Horner expressed his opinion out loud, yeah, they should file a real protest instead, but at this point it's all part of the game. Maybe like a courtroom drama movie where the lawyer will make a statement that they KNOW will be over-ruled, but they just want to put that thought and doubt in the jury's mind.

I am talking about the Mercedes management since Toto Wolf took control in 2013.

It had reached a degree of efficiency hardly heard of since the Prost/Senna epoch at McLaren.

and then the sandbags will come off. I read somewhere-probably here-that MB is using shorter gearing to keep the revs high so as to test the cooling efficiency of their design. No one knows what fuel loads, engine modes, etc are being run. The only thing evident for now is who is porpoising and who isn't.

Sainz firmly rejects George Russell's comments that Ferrari is the best car. Carlos "I think it is typical Mercedes and typical George, hype up the others and come to the first race and blow the competition away."

Sainz is a true Ferrari driver now :D

Yep. Depressingly so. I guess that happens when you have a bunch of people writing the rules with job security.

Francis Bacon once wrote: "Lie, lie, there will always be something left".

That's quite appropriate for the malicious outbursts coming from the Red Bull camp.

They often don't put their money where their mouth is.

McLaren won titles with TAG-Porsche engines too !

In any case, the team was McLaren, not Honda.

Pat Symmons, who participated in the team of engineers that wrote the rules, has admitted that the cars generally don't turn up exactly as anticipated.

Unless the FIA decides the next set of rules based on tests with different prototypes (like the aero industry does), they will achieve the same result.

No need prototypes to know that smaller and lighter cars are better to watch.
    Better for ecology too.
The overtaking problem is a wrong path.

Senna/Prost was successful in that period due to HONDA! Be honest for once. Sheesh . . .

So Mclaren is dealing with overheating.

Williams overheated (MGU generator related possibly, harvesting from rear axle) and burned to a crisp.

Aston Martin I don't know (many many slats though in that bodywork).

How is it possible that Mercedes, with incredibly small radiators, extremely tight bodywork, seems completely fine on engine temps? I know that intakes and venting size isn't the end all be all, but it's very puzzling.

Exactly. Physics is the same for everyone. More weight = bad turning. Drivers keep begging for lower weight yet it skyrockets.

Good point RE eco as well. Imagine how much more fuel efficient these cars would be 200KG lighter...;)

Any estimates on what percentage of performance was due to Honda, vs. the designers of McLaren (Prost/Senna years)?

McLaren was successful before Honda came, and after Honda left too!

In any case, the WCC goes to the constructor, the chassis builder, not to the engine supplier.
