Canadian GP talking points: Make or break for Mercedes in Montreal? | F1 News
Weather forecast appears much better - No rain help for those who needed a break to gain position like Red Bull or LH https://weather.com/en-GB/weather/weekend/l/CAXX0301:1:CA
Canadian Grand Prix: Lewis Hamilton says he can overhaul Sebastian Vettel in 2017 - BBC Sport - Canadian Grand Prix: Lewis Hamilton says he can overhaul Sebastian Vettel in 2017 Maybe.....the Ferrari is just a superbly balanced car this year. 2 or 3 more wins and thats not about to be possible LH.
This is a strong circuit for Lewis. So, we'll see how Ferrari does against Merc this weekend. This could be one of the best indicators of Ferrari's true strength this season.
True but the Ferrari has not shown much overt weakness anywhere. They seem to get stronger. LH has admitted the team has no real idea what plagues him and what did in Monaco. With a dry race now Ferrari must be the favorites.
JUNE 9, 2017 F1 set to confirm 2029 Montreal contract Montreal's Circuit Gilles Villeneuve has secured its place on the F1 calendar long into the future. There was already a contract in place until 2025, but La Presse newspaper reports that the deal has now been extended until 2029, at a cost to the local governments of almost $100 million. "The agreement will be publicly announced this weekend at the grand prix," the newspaper said. Part of the agreement involves a $48 million pledge to build a new paddock complex ahead of the 2019 race. Le Journal de Montreal reports that alongside the Canadian officials for the official contract announcement will be F1 chiefs Chase Charey, Ross Brawn and Sean Bratches.
Where are Ferrari with potential grid penalties for swapping turbos and what not and how does it compare with Merc? I just hate these penalties because it takes away the fight between top drivers when you artificially get a leg up because your competitor got shuffled down the grid because his gearbox blew. That just drives me nuts
It's a team sport, and the car/people taking care of it are more important than the drivers. Don't let it drive you nuts...it's not a spec series.
Next NEW TC will incur a grid spot penalty for Vettel....they can re-use the older ones but run the risk of a possible DNF during the race.
Thanks for the info. Do we know why Seb had so many new turbos already? Reliability or just a new design?
Both are valid outcomes. Another that comes to my mind is the Scuderia are running them at max. boost pressure IMO hence everyone else has the pressure BAR dialed down somewhat.
"uh-huh...uhhhh-huh....yep, engine crapped out on us again!!!!" oh wait...its a hydraulic issue now!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Force India's looking strong, could they beat Red Bull this weekend? Red Bull strong here past seasons despite lower spec engine...but they had a superb chassis they just don't enjoy now. FI with new engine, too... Not worried about Mercedes being ahead, Ferrari should be faster here. Remember last year with a far worse car and we almost won, if it wasn't for the silly strategy...
Grojean needs to stop whining and start racing. It's getting really OLD He always seems to have a negative attitude.
Kimi's long run is extremely consistent. Looking very good....better than Vettel's pace. Hamilton resorting to backing off constantly to disrupt Vettel's post red flag long run Mercedes looks like they have tire warming issues, lol. We now have a much faster car...so should be ''easy'' +1 I've said it many times here now, but his constant whining is so off-putting. Comes across like he hasn't a clue what he's doing (''What is going on, I do not understand'').
