I have an 2005 low mile ( 7300 ) easy mile F1 coupe. It seems when I drive the car the first apprx 1-5 miles the clutch seems to slip more than when warm. Its great warm and at power and speed. Can other f1 users share if they have felt the same. All of these are at light throttle in neighborhood. Driving allot this summer, what a great car!

I'm not surprised. Many (most?) cars have a different clutch feel when cold vs hot.

From what I've been told, this should not happen. The electronics automatically compensate for the "bite".

What I would do is run it past a dealer and get the black box readings. They can give you a print out of all the issues with the clutch. It's amazing how much information they can get on the clutch's use and performance.

That would give you a definative answer.

I'm sure there was a thread about this recently, might have been on a UK forum, but anyway, mine does this aswell, usually the first couple of engagments of the day are not quite as sharp as normal.

Here was the other thread. I responded in that thread that mine didn't seem to have a problem, but it now definitely does. Not sure if I just never noticed it before or whether this just started. For the first minute, It seems like the clutch has trouble engaging. I only notice it coming out of the garage. Once I'm onto the street it seems fine.

AN easy way to tell if the PIS is set correctly and also if the clutch is slipping is get the car on a flat road. From a stop put the car is first gear and slightly touch the gas. The car should start moving about 1200rpm. if it comes in after 1200 the clutch is slipping or the pis is to far out.

THANKS, I made an appointment for oil change and will have the lead mechanic take look/ drive. I feel abit better learning its "common" . Mine is driven so easy and with low mile it would shock me to see clutch wear of any sigificance. Maybe a trait to live with or a tunable item. Thanks for the link and feedback

    Mike
