Just realized next year it'll be 10 years since MS joined Ferrari. Its been one hell of a decade!!!
As much as I would like to see MS become the Paul Newman of F1, I think its best if he retires on a high note instead of fading away. He has had a glorious career, in the 9 years (going on 10) with Ferrari he has 5 championships, 2 second places (although one was DSQ), 1 third place and 1 fifth place. That is a staggering record in itself.
I want to see schey take F1 to the anthor level (ok i know he has already, but! ). i hope he keeps going until he has 10 champ's, hey it's possible, if he wins this year,(come on F2005) that's 8, and a renewed two year contract add'ed on to the current would give him 3 more seasons! Anyone fancy a bet????? lots of F1 drivers have raced into there 40's, and a few with major wins!!! With schey being one of fittest and the most committed, i have no doubts that he can keep going for a good few year's yet and still be at the top! Just think of the sad day when he say's "i'm done" ...
The racing fan in me wants to see him drive forever. But, the family man within wishes he'll hang up the helmet and enjoy quality time with his family. I think MS might renew his driving contract for another couple of years. I may be wrong, but isn't he already involved in some way with development of the road cars? So I am sure he'll be involved with Ferrari in some way.
