    So I have been parking for about 6 months without putting parking brake on and I just noticed in the last few weeks maybe that the beep no longer comes on.

    I can not remember does it beep if one of the bonnets is left open?

    It beeps if you shut the car off and it is neutral.

    It matters not what position the e-brake is in.

    If the hood or deck lid are open and you try to select 1st gear, it will beep and drop back to neutral.

    Sorry I meant I have been parking in neutral and no more beep

    I will try the deck lid, maybe speaker is toast.
