Hello My 99 355 F1 often require multiple "flips" of both paddles when it has been parked in gear. Always eventually goes into N, foot hard on brake. No problems with shifting no cel's. Any experience with this? Thanks. Gh

If it only happens when your starting. Are your sure your F1 light is out and not blinking before you try to engage N.

thanks for the response. No light blinking just the "1" . I then flip both paddles and go into neutral and start the engine. Often requires 6 or more of these flips and finally feel faint clunk and see the "N" and can engage the starter and all is good. Often just the first tug on both paddles will do the trick and into neutral for starting. I usually leave in "1" when parking along with parking brake. I don't trust the parking brake much. Thanks again.

I think what Michael is trying to say is that the f1 light has to stop blinking before you can select any gears. mine usually flashes five to six times before it goes out at which time I can then select a gear. if it's taking much longer than that could be a potential problem with the pump.

My car is doing the same exact thing..but mine goes right into neutral when i hit the paddles. I know from my last 99 that it should go to neutral on its own..
