What happens if something in the F1 system (fuse/pump/motor/hose) fails at highway speed? How can you get the car into neutral? Do you bump down the road until the engine is killed by being unable to disengage the trans? Is this a nightmare?

The accumulator has pressure in it so you should be able to shift unless you blow out a high pressure line.

Why wait for it to happen?

    - fuse: this doesn't blow without a reason - see below
    - F1 pump relay: if you have a 360, change it regularly (yearly?) or upgrade to the 50A version of later cars
    - pump: this doesn't die without giving plenty of warning signs first. Change it in time, with the cheap Alfa spare if on a 360
    - clutch block: change it for the uprated Hill Engineering one
    - hoses: I don't think these burst very often? Others here with more experience will opine.

I had my 2nd gear hydrolic hose leak at highway speed on f430
What happened is the f1 fluid will go low enough where e-diff will flash warning and tell you to slow down

I was in 5th gear and it will not upshift or downshift
So you just take advantage of the sitaution and floor it while calling 911 and tell them you cant slow down or the car will blow :)

Im just kidding when you slowdown enough the car will automatically shift into neutral and will not go into gear so you have to call a tow truck. So make sure you stop somewhere safe.
