I have checked my F1 fluid as per the owners and workshop manual. I found that level wasn't even touching the dip stick. I filled it to just above the "low" mark and went on my way. I drove for about 45 minutes. When I stopped I smelled burning trans fluid. I looked at the back of the car and noticed F1 fluid dripping from the car. So my question is do I have a problem with my F1 or is "Ferrari normal" any insight would be helpful.
    Thanks.

I know that when you first open the driver door the f1 pump starts for a few seconds and the level should go down a little. I don't think you over filled it, have you noticed any leak spots on the garage floor???

In the manual is says to turn the key to II which seems to achieve the same thing as opening the door. That is where they want you to check the level (cold and run the pump)The only fluid seems to be what I put in. The car shifts fine.

I would monitor it; keep an eye on the garage floor. I had a leak once from the knock out bearing seal….

It doesn't seem leaking from anywhere ( but I'll look closer) It's just puking out of the vent on the reservoir.

Could be air pockets. Sometimes you have to bleed F1 hydraulics from what I gather.

To that extent, I'm under the impression that to bleed the F1 hydraulics on a 355, after fluid has been topped up, turn on ignition key for about 1 second. This builds sufficent pressure to start bleeding. Leaving it on longer builds more pressure than you will need and can end up making a mess. Open bleeder screw then manually activate the solenoid for the clutch with an external 12V power supply. This is the top solenoid toward the rear of the car. After the pressure is exhausted, close the valve and repeat this procedure until no more air comes out of the bleeder.

Perhaps that process or something similar would likewise work on your 360.

Thanks, I'll look in the workshop manual for the procedure.
