So many posts about F1 fluids, but still difficult. No dipstick on mine-and I don't have one of those suction devices with a curved tube......but, I opened the reservoir and watched he level go down when the door was opened. Level dropped, but stopped dropping several seconds before the pump stopped. I made my own dipstick which showed 1or 2 mm of fluid above the bottom when the pump spooled up. I think this all means it's a little low?

I've had a couple of slow down messages when hot, and hope topping it up fixes it.

    Anyone with experience please comment--thanks!

No comments? A little surprise with all the talk and issues with F1--anyway I built my own (crude) level tool which works, and I replaced the fluid which was only a few mm low, but was thin compared to fresh Mobil 1--I noticed the pump "spooled up" much faster... So maybe an improvement?

I don't think that slow down has anything to do with the F1. My understanding is that is triggered by a cat temperature sensor. Usually a bad ECU for the cat but could be running too rich or other problems causing the cat to overheat.
