For those of you that were interested in feedback directly from Pentosin on the use of CHF11S as an F1 system fluid replacement, the following is a summary of what has been conveyed to me as of this morning.
    1. Common use case for CHF11S is an actuator fluid, so the application under consideration seems reasonable.
    2. Shell Spirax S4 HDX is closer in specs to Pentosin ATF1, rather than CHF11S.
    3. No current or planned compatibility tests with Shell products.
    4. Pentosin is unfamiliar with the Ferrari application.
    5. Given all of the above there is no answer on compatibility.
Based on the above I am going to stick with Brian’s recommendation and use the Redline D4 ATF.

Also, I am still looking for some input on how much fluid you can extract from the F1 reservoir before risking introducing air into the system. I plan to use Terry’s method of replacing the fluid in the reservoir several times over the course of the next month. Per my last note the factory shop manual claims 1L capacity for the entire F1 system, so my guess was 0.25L or so. Any help here is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Matt
