Starting the race thread a bit early, going to stay up for 4am race start Luckily it's a long weekend here Good to see Kimi near the top but expecting another dominating performance by Merc tho who knows in Canada Vettel gets a 5 place grid penalty for overtaking with red flag during FP3. Should be a fine race from 3rd place down. Merc know the reliability from last season so we can safely assume that they've fixed the brake issues. Lots of fast boys out of position which will be fun to watch. Come on Ferrari!
2015 is a TEST season for McLaren - They might as well use a new engine every race In order to ensure a reliable one next season - just saying
+1 Yes, but look at Renault also...already using 5th engine and they had a test bed last year as well!
As I understand Verstappen is also going to suffer a stop and go penalty. Gives more action for the Marussias -> more TV time. And they have a sponsor now, don't they. See the positive
Fair comment I guess! At least the penalties are maybe a little harsh though IMO. If they start using too many bits we could see both Fred & JB sitting in the pits for minutes with drive-thru penalties...... Cheers, Ian
Yes he is. Fair comment on the Marussia's though! Guess they'll be happy.... "Every cloud has a silver lining?" Cheers, Ian
JB is taking it all in stride. Nice interview about this with him on SKY yesterday. Its racing under the current rules. I just want to see Honda making progress. The penalties will come and be gone and we wont remember them at all.
I think this will be entertaining with Seb starting back there. I'm pumped. Pretty sure I just saw Al Pacino in the benz paddock too. That's awesome.
Wonder if Ferrari can pull something out of their hat with a daring 1 stop...if worse case scenario is 3rd then it's a worthy gamble
By the end of the season half the grid will start from the pits and Marussia will be on the pole. At that point some will realize that all is not well in F1.
