Morning/Afternoon all Fernando Alonso has been demoted to sixth on the Hungarian Grand Prix grid after stewards deemed he "unnecessarily impeded" McLaren team-mate Lewis Hamilton in Saturday's qualifying. And it has been thrashed out on the boards I fell into the (he was guilty camp before the outcome) and nearly regretted it I admit ..After reading SRT mikes posts.. but the outcome was justified.. It certainly is a interesting season so far let it continue..
Good morning, everyone. I have been trying to go to sleep for hours, but I just can't, so I just decided to pull an all-nighter. Anyone excited to see the GP2 race about to come on? It's really great racing. Anyway, let's hope that Kimi can make a move a the start, and Felipe can somehow cut through the field. -John
Good morning John, good afternoon Steve Fisi has been relagated to 13 place after his blocking of Yamamoto. Kubica is the only driver in the top ten who remains in the position in which he qualified. John, GP2 is some kind of race - sorry to see Timo back down as far as he is - did you see the slow motion of the rear suspension going out on one of the cars in a turn after bumping wheels. Glock was sure lucky after his spin into the gravel and back out onto the track he didn't get collected. I like their scoring - you get a point for having the fastest lap of race. Yesterday's qualifying is well over and it's time to move onto the race. Hopefully, this group discussing the race as it occurs on live timing and on the slightly delayed tv can remain free of unnecessary childish personal slams. Massa's problem will be getting past Fisi, Webber and Trulli. Carol Here's the grid: 1. Lewis Hamilton, McLaren 2. Nick Heidfeld, BMW Sauber 3. Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari 4. Nico Rosberg, Williams 5. Ralf Schumacher, Toyota 6. Fernando Alonso, McLaren 7. Robert Kubica, BMW Sauber 8. Jarno Trulli, Toyota 9. Mark Webber. Red Bull 10. David Coulthard, Red Bull 11. Heikki Kovalainen, Renault 12. Alexander Wurz, Williams 13. Giancarlo Fisichella, Renault 14. Felipe Massa, Ferrari 15. Anthony Davidson, Super Aguri 16. Vitantonio Liuzzi, Toro Rosso 17. Jenson Button, Honda 18. Rubens Barrichello, Honda 19. Takuma Sato, Super Aguri 20. Sebastian Vettel, Toro Rosso 21. Adrian Sutil, Spyker 22. Sakon Yamamoto, Spyker
Morning carol Having cookies? Nice sunshine here but cant watch TV in it.. Anybody got the forecast for the GP.. Steve
Hi Steve, no cookies - left over cold pepperoni/mushroom pizza with diet Dr. Pepper. Watching the GP2 race - it's sunny with a bit of wind. Wx forecast for Budapest this afternoon is partly cloudy, no rain and 79F. It's still dark here. John, I have some suggestions for you that may or may not work in your situation for the Canadian GP that I'll PM you with - ideas that work well for us going to races, most especially effective for the 24 hour ones. Steve, you have some fantastic racing coming your way next month at Silverstone. The LMS race should be a good one. It's the same weekend as the F1 race at Spa. If you go, cheer for Team Modena (that's Rik's team). Carol
Thanks for info Carol Will be cheering for team Modena Regards this race I wonder if FA can contain his pent up anger at being put back to 6th.. Should be good to watch as its not a good overtaking track..
Good points I dont know on both points.. It isnt a good overtaking track and thats what F1 needs more of..
Yes, I am in the know. This is an opportunity for the red team. Alonso will start like a rocket. It will be interesting at the start.
The first race was held on 6-21-1936 which was won by Nuvolari driving for Alfa. Politics and war ended GP racing for 50 years there. Bernie did a big coup and in 1986 the Hungarian GP was the first F1 race to occur behind the Iron Curtain. In 2001 MS = Prost's 51 GP wins and his 4th title. Carol That was a very nice "symphony" intro for the race.
I'm watching the Star sports broad cast and they were commenting on Massa being in 14th position and blaming Nigel Stephney not being there for the mistakes that the pit crew made in not giving him enough fuel WTF!!!
Good morning everybody. Good start by Kimi. If anybody is interested, the New York Times travel section has a good article on going to the Bahrain GP.
