Here's the link... Formula One TV partner moving closer to offering live 3D broadcasts of races - Autoweek I wish we were getting this :-(
+1 At least we're gonna get a 30 minute intro show! Seriously, seems Sky are really pushing the boat out here - Integrating their own 3D cameras with the world feed into their broadcast isn't going to be easy. Good luck to 'em! Anyone in the UK going to step up and actually *pay* them for this?! - I know I will as soon as I get back there! They deserve the support IMO. Cheers, Ian
I really don't think 3D TV is THAT great. I really have a hard time catching on because it doesn't really add that much. 3D gaming, however, definitely has a future. Think about racing games/sims where it looks like you are actually sittin in a car with the interior surrounding you! Mark
TBH, I've never even worn a pair of 3D glasses! [Not for TV or in a cinema!] I know, I'm a dinosaur. So, I really have no idea of the effect. My boys say 3D soccer is OK as long as they don't force feed us - Use it a little for "dramatic effect" and it's cool apparently. The key is that at least they're *trying* though! Apparently, the fans asked for it and they're delivering. Will it work long term? Who knows - I suspect it'll only get better over time - Maybe as far as 3D onboard's that do indeed make it into a video game. Again, I wish them well with it. Cheers, Ian
Glad somebody else was able to admit to this! You aren't going to catch me fessing up to this fact............ oh, damn.
While my move isn't cast in stone as yet, I guess I'll join this century when I get back and pick up a new TV - Figure it may as well be 3D. (?) Problem here right now is it seems I can't even give the existing 55" Mitsubishi away - Great HD picture but no HDMI ports, coupled with the charity guys not being interested in anything over ~25" suggests it'll cost me to dump it! Cheers, Ian
I have watched one a little. It's neat, but has one inherent flaw. Most people don't have TV's large enough to encompass the majority of their field of vision. This makes 3d TV viewing odd in that only one rectangular area is "3D." With the glasses on, anything that's not the TV looks flat(ish) and shaded. Unless you have a large projector (and you bet your ass I do ), it just looks a little odd. When my bulb goes on the projector, I'm going to replace the whole thing and step up to 3D, but it's only for my anticipating that more gaming will be in 3D in the future. Mark
