    That is a Brabham BT 42. John Watson drove for Hexagon the following season IIRC.

    The following season(1974) Hexagon initially campaigned a BT42 and then a BT44 IIRC. The more unified livery was dark brown with white accents and a red nose stripe. I thought that it looked pretty cool.

    It's Wattie, who ran those helmet colours throughout his career. Purley's helmet was in the midnight blue, red, and white colours of his family's company, Lec Refrigeration. After the March, Purley raced a very pretty Mike Pilbeam-penned car built and run by his own team (below).

    David Purley campaigned a March in 1973-74. The LEC didn't appear until 1977.

    Quite correct, but he only raced F2 and F5000 in 1975 and 1976...

    I remember Nicola Larini beating all the German drivers and constructors on their home soil to win the DTM (Deutsch Tourenwagen Meistershaft) driving an Alfa Romeo FWD V6. That season was epic.
