    WHILE UP SHIFTING IN MY 07 430 COUPE A STRANGE RELEASE OF AIR CAN BE HEARD FROM ENGINE BAY, LIKE THE SUDDEN RELEASE OF A WASTE GATE. THE NOISE NOT AUDIBLE ON DOWNSHIFT. THE HARDER YOU PUSH IT THE MORE NOTICEABLE. THIS WAS CHECKED OUT BY WELL RESPECTED LOCAL AUTH. FERRARI DLR . MECH. HE HAS NEVER HEARD THE NOISE AND UNSURE OF ITS ORIGIN. ANY THOUGHTS BY OUR SUPERTECHS ?

    YES, I BELIEVE YOUR CAPS LOCK BUTTON IS STUCK.

    Check plastic lining around intake or intake itself. Sounds like some kind of vacuum leak or it wouldn't make a swooshing sound.

    Ted- What FB 33 was telling you was to deselect your stinking Caps Lock button. After everybody's internet ears stop ringing, hopefully one of the pros can help you.

    Last time I looked, there were no pneumatics involved in the electro-hydraulic F1 shifting system.

    Did you recently change your exhaust system to one with lower back pressure? If so, the noises you hear are normal.

    EXHAUST SYSTEM AND ENTIRE CAR BONE STOCK. I AM HOPING SOME PROS WITH GOOD IDEAS CHIME IN.
    AGAIN, VERY HIGHLY RESPECTED F-CAR TEC AT FofD RAN INTO DEAD END, SO YES, I NEED SOME PROS OR 430 OWNERS WITH SAME PROBLEM TO JUMP IN.

    It used to be called SHOUTING.

    So QUIT SHOUTING.

    Actually, I have the answer to source of this particular noise but need a week or two to drive the car around to be certain.

    I'd be very curious to hear the answer to this as well. I've been experiencing a similiar noise in my 360. (thread regarding it in the 360/430 section)

    Does it happen most frequently after shifting (up or down)? Occassionally it will happen when stationary, but almost always about 3-5 seconds after a shift. So I have to guess it's F1 system related. It almost sounds like a faint honking noise, yea?

    Additionally, it only occurs when the car is hot. I've driven 40 miles in the car from cold without lots of shifting and it won't make the noise.

    I notice air release noise immediately after downshift only. it is a gush of air only, not a HONK. Sounds like different noise.

    Could that just be the intake noise from the rev matching of the downshift? Basically just an induction sound as the motor is rev'd slightly.
