I took the old harness and cut out the exact same length wire, but didn't measure it. I recall it being about 6 feet or so. Unfortunately I don't have the old one around to take measurements. Next time I have to remove it, I'll take an exact measurement and update the DIY. I bought 32 feet of wire on Amazon and it was way more than I needed for 2 sensors.
This is so helpful I believe I had the same problem that led me to get my F1 converted to manual back then. Although I love the conversion, I miss the F1 transmission. Thanks for keeping the F1 alive, the newer techs at Ferrari dealers know less and less about how to fix old F1 transmissions believe it or not.
Engine bay, passenger side, about 1 meter forward from the F1 fluid container, behind the shield. It is routed from the actuator above the transmission, between the A frame and the airbox, then runs alongside other wires that go behind that shield. And fun note - only 3 of the 4 pins are actually used. If you're going to go through all of this for the first time and you haven't replaced and bled your F1 fluid, which involves removing the actuator, you might as well take care of that as well and tear it all down. That way you don't have to worry about air in your actuator fluid being one of the problems.
Use a small screwdriver to pry off the little tab that locks it in. Prop up the lid with a stick or something else, then pop off the strut. Once you do it enough times you will figure out your own tricks for doing it without the stick.
