I was in Zagreb over the weekend and watched the GP on German TV. Language barrier aside, the graphic coverage wasn't much better than what I see on SpeedChannel. I wish I could understand what was being discussed on the Niki Lauda pre-race show.

German TV also broadcast a great recap of the '71 F1 season. Jackie (Stewart and Ickx), Clay, Mario, Francois, etc. The footage was excellent, you could really see just how much car control was involved. Also, the proximity of the fans/officials to the cars at speed was actually frightening.

That is pretty much the case... there is a single "world feed" that goes out the to various broadcasters, and they simply dub their commentary over it. Having said there, there were some nice additions to the graphic package for Turkey-- showing "TC" on the telemetry, and the < or > for each driver both at the start and in the points standings at the end. I think at one point the even had a 3 lap comparison graphic.

We need more of that stuff, I hope it wasn't a one off just for Turkey.
